Princess Mola's Journal, 21 February 2013

I don't get it. Someone please help.

I have just hopped on the scale and my weight has not shifted from 132 -133kg. I’m so frustrated.

I have been controlling my intake by limiting and counting my calories. Exercises have been some light weight training, stationary cycling, dancing & boxercise. I don't have any medical issues that could inhibit my metabolism. I have dropped 2 dresses though.

It’s just got me so unhappy this morning. I’m working had against those nasty mind chatters urging me to quit this program. I’m so tearful.

Sad Princess!! :(

you have dropped 2 dress sizes. This means you have lost fat. Well done. your weight doesn't show it because you have built up your muscles. You are on track. In time you will see it on the scales. Go by your measuring tape remember the slogan -pinch an inch. Its true forget the scales for a few months

Thanks Jennyroy. That is a good idea... I've relieved my stress by climbing 130 stairs. :)

You need to look at the big picture and not just the scale. The scale is only one way to measure weight or fat loss, how your clothes fit is another. Going down two sizes means your losing fat. It sometimes takes time for the scale to catch up. We all lose at different rates and in different places. Your chart shows a mostly downward spiral which means you are going in the right direction. Weight loss is not linear and we all have gains at some point. Many times it's something as simple as too much sodium one day, sore muscles from working out, hormones, inflammation in the body, stress, lack of sleep etc. So many factors make the scale fluctuate. You are doing great. Keep going! Think of all the positive wonderful changes you are making to your body. Be proud!
