Messed up my kitchen and that on a weekday!

Normally I cook on the weekend so I have enough for the following week. Last weekend I was first busy cleaning the house and second on a shopping spree at Home Depot/Lowe's. Every time I was done with one thing I was done. No thought of cooking. Had some leftovers from the week before in the freezer but also had in mind to try Alice Springs Chicken. Buffy made me curious so I googled it and it looked good to me.
Now, since there was no time to prepare it earlier I finally made it tonight. 3 altogether, 2 ended up in the freezer immediately. Even though I cook in advance I also love variety.
The recipe I found looked pretty easy and it said 345 cal, 3 carbs, 2 net carbs.
I followed the recipe to the dot, though they did not tell how much the chicken breast should weigh.
Anyway, I put it in my cookbook at FS and came up with 456 cal and 1.6 net carbs. Not bad besides the cals. Best of all it was DELICIOUS :-)

Now I have some clean up to do. Hate it but no way around it.

If you are anything like me you trash your kitchen cooking a meal. If I didn't have a dishwasher I think I'd start eating out every night. Hope you made enough chicken so you don't have to cook tomorrow night!

Buffy - I am anything like you. As much as I try to not make such a mess, I never succeed. but all is clean now. Btw, remember I got my dishwasher beginning of last year. How much I missed that thing *lol*///Yes, I cooked enough for tomorrow's lunch as well and will have something from last week for dinner. No cooking tomorrow. Plan on doing overtime anyway, there will be no time left to cook. Will be glad when I get home. Then I have another project lurking in the corner. I want to paint or stain my bathroom cabinet. Need to remove the old paint first and will then decide. Main thing, get the paint off. Have all the gadgets I need but some plastic foil for covering the floor. I know I have some somewhere, either in the basement or the shed. Have not really looked. Fear it is in the shed and I am not going out there when it is dark (though I have lights). Hopefully I will make it home early enough one night this week so I can get it and get started.

lol.....always having had a small kitchen, taught me to clean as I go along :), so by the time I sit down to eat, the only thing I have to put away is the plates we are eating from. I always have some chicken in my fridge that I can just put under my 'George' incase I am too busy/lazy to cook properly. How about just using some old newspaper, will save you digging round in the shed. I have a big family of mice overwintering in my shed, which I will ignore til the spring ;)

I usually try to clean as I cook; but once you get those pots and pans rattling, and the food is smelling good, sometimes it's just easier to clean up after the eating is done. That sounds like a great recipe for me to try. Have a wonderful day! :-)

Schmetterling & Shyguy - I definitely try to clean up while I cook but at some point it always gets out of my hands ;-) It was not too bad and done in no time but looking at it and get going was kind of scary *lol*

Schmetterling - I know there are mice out there, they don't bother me at all. and right now it seems to be the safest time to go into the shed , especially at night, since everything is hibernating. Newspaper is a great idea but I don't have any and I am not sure if the sstripper will not soak through it and damage the vinyl underneath it. But I started looking around and found some plastic covers I can use. did not start yet, just got home form a reception at work, and am contemplating if I should at all. Might end up finishing off around midnight which is definitely too late. Was late last night already and I need my "beauty sleep" *hahahaha*
