What a weekend...lots of eating, went over my daily allowance of 1500 calories on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Not much exercise on the weekend either. Just on Saturday at the farm. I moved 60 bales of hay basically from one end of the mow to the other! My dad's barn is huge, so lots of walking across bales of hay with a bale of hay in each hand. I was sweatin'!! Plus my dad wanted to tie up 3 cows. And they weren't too co-operative! Sunday we had fun at my work's children's Christmas party. The food was all the stuff kids love - pizza, hot dogs and chicken & fries. A few veggies for the adults. And lots of cookies! I tried to stay away but ended up having some of my son's gingerbread man (just his feet!). My little guy was good with Santa, briefly, and then the water works come. But he loved his present from Santa, a new bulldozer with lots of sounds and actions. We then went home and did some Christmas cookie baking and house cleaning.

Back to work today. Hope to get out at lunch if it's not raining to go for a walk/jog. Happy Monday all!

Hi Aggie, sounds like you had a very busy weekend- and that it was productive and fun too- Glad your little guy had fun at the work's party and he wasn't too scared of Santa. It is so much fun at Christmas with little people around :)

Sounds like lots of fun with family and coworkers even if part of it was moving hay! Saw this on website easterneuropeanfood.about: In the 16th century, the English replaced the breadcrumbs with flour, and added eggs and sweeteners, resulting in a lighter product. The first gingerbread man is credited to Queen Elizabeth I, who knocked the socks off visiting dignitaries by presenting them with one baked in their own likeness. Gingerbread tied with ribbon was popular at fairs and, when exchanged, became a token of love. On a more practical note, before refrigeration was a twinkle in someone's eye, aromatic crumbled gingerbread was added to recipes to mask the odor of decaying meat. :)
