Got my new shoes last night. Although I was delayed in getting home...my plan was run get shoes and get back home. However, it was more like close to 7pm when I got home. However, I did get in a 2 mile run. I was not going to miss another day. I can tell that it is really helping me to cope with my frustrations and even some anxiety. I realize that as I get closer to going to Georgia next week I am getting more emotional. I know why...this is the first visit back since my sweet Mama passed away. Did a 16:8 fast this morning and then broke the fast with a cup of coffee with some heavy cream. Not too bad. We have maintenance night tonight so I am thinking I will have a later lunch today. Get some treadmill time in and go to the gym. I will fix something for DH for dinner but I am sure I will still be full and that is fine.

DH - so the Doctor told him to cut his metformin in half. We are doing that and it does make a difference. So now his BS, after morning coffee, is 126 where it was in the 90's. After breakfast that is the same...in the 120's where before it was in the 90's. Of course, he messaged me today could he have pizza. I want to say you are a grown man you can have what you want. That is when I said, "what is your BS after breakfast" and he says, "let me check". I sent him appx numbers of here is a slice of pizza eating the crust and here is a slice eating the topping and no crust. He needs to make those decisions and seriously he has used the app before to look this stuff up. I think he decided against the pizza.

So time to get back to work. I hope everyone is having a good week. Remember to be kind to yourselves!

Good for you on the new shoes and run. What ARE the numbers on the pizza with and without, Please?

Bella I just used the Fat Secret info as a guideline for him. What I found is based off of a 12" meat and vegetable pizza and one slice. It was around 27 carbs for one slice or around 3 carbs for just the topping. He decided to not have a slice of pizza. I refuse to tell him yes or no, but rather give him the information and let him decide.

Cool, thank you. I'd gone to Trader Joe's last night in search of kale pizza crust I saw on someone else's journal - even one slice was still about 15 carbs so I was like 'at the level I'd just have the real thing.' I think I'm going to just try to make a pan pizza without crust period - saw that on someone else's journal too. Definitely - trying to tell anyone, esp the spouse, what to do or not do, never a good place to be.

Look up Quest Pizza, available at many Target stores - very low carb

fulla....if you like the really thin cracker type pizza crusts used in many specialty style pizza's.....i use the flat out breads. the trick i found is to lightly brush with olive oil on both sides, oven at 375, put on cookie sheet or pizza stone. and flip them a couple of times every couple minutes until the are crispy and cracker like. top with whatever.....you just cant pile it on really heavy or it gets soggy...then flash broil or throw on the bbq grill. i have even made a few with different toppings and then sliced up for appetizers .. much better than what you cab buy in the store.

i use the multigrain ones. 7net carbs per wrap. i eat them for the biber. if you go to the flat out bread website they have lots of ideas on using for pizza.....enjoy!!

Gogo... I love carbs, but my body doesn't. With my T2 diabetes, they shoot my Blood Glucose sky high. If I stay true to Keto or Low carb, it gets lower. Other wise it is in the high 200's. Carbs are just not worth the damage the high BG does to my organs or eyes.

I use the Italian Flat Out (high fiber and lower carbs) to make crackers with. So far they aren't impacting DH blood sugar in a negative way so that is good. I will have to try them as a personal type pizza. Thanks for the ideas! Also, will look for the Quest one. Thanks so much everyone!
