Tomorrow is our company Christmas party. Should I go by myself? It just seems odd. If I go, I will need to get new pants. I don't have any that I really like. Some of my pants still fit; but they are super baggy and don't pass muster with my resident teenage fashionista. Which brings me to my next noteworthy chunk of news....
I got into my suit! I haven't worn in it in three years. The last time I wore it was when I was interviewing for jobs. That means that I have lost the thirty pounds I gained since I started working at my job and sitting on my butt all day long. I am amazed. It was really hard word work, but certainly worth it!

First of all Major Congrats on the loss ~ fitting back into the 'slimmer suit!' Great Job!!
During my quarter century in corporate America I learned to avoid the company Christmas parties, well, most all company parties, like the plague regardless of whether MH could go or not.
My experience was there were too many folks letting down their hair and using the 'party' as an excuse to show you intimate sides of themselves at night that you'd rather not know on Monday morning.
Seemed easier to maintain a pretense of professionalism by not knowing. Maybe I just have the kind of face people wanted to 'open up to' but I always dreaded that the VP who spilled her guts to me over the Merlot would find a reason to CAN me when she sobered up and regretted her confessions.
