BG 95 (very good); Well yesterday was wet, cold again AND nerve-racking as I went with my mom to the emergency room. She was having pains in her chest but she was sure it wasn't her heart. She had been doing a lot of coughing the last few days she said. They ran all kinds of tests on her before concluding after several hours, she has water in her lungs. The new "temp" doctor that attented her, was argumentative, taunting and contradicted the meds my mom's primary doctor had my mom on. Honestly, I've never wanted to hit a doctor before!!! He had that "God complex" down pat and nobody else knew anything but him! Talk about a huge ego! He told my mom that she wasn't coughing when she was! ANYWAY we got home about 4 pm finally. I helped mom to settle in and she layed down. Good thing I live so close. But between the cold and wet along with the stress my fibro flared so that was that for the day and night. This morning I'm feeling a little better, though it's still cold. Time for coffee and then I'll call my mom.

I hope your mom feels better soon. Take care of her. There's a nasty cold virus going around right now. Even young people are getting hammered pretty hard.

Ruby, my heart goes out to your mother for everything she is being dealt with this year. I will keep her and you in my prayers. Be sure to follow up with her primary care Dr when you can. It's funny how a stranger thinks they know more about you than the person who has been following you all along. He needs a reality adjustment.

Thank you, really. I know she has an appointment with her doctor next month but I want her to go in sooner, so later I'll go over to mom's and see about changing her appointment. Yesterday she was too tired to deal with it. And yeah Runesinger, my daugher is in Federal Way and is sick. ugh..

Wow, your poor mom is really having a hard time and so are you!! Being the caregiver of an elderly parent can be hard. Take good care of yourself, too Ruby and remember to get your rest, follow your WOE, and take all your supplements. We don't want you getting sick!! As for the doctor, I have done many a battle with those demi-Gods, and so I now what you are talking about. Arm yourself with knowledge and they don't stand a chance, and above all, don't be intimidated. Hope that mom is feeling better today! Take care Ruby, dear. I will be praying for you and your mom!

With her weakened immune system you shoud really try to reschedule it. She really can't afford to get this chest cold that is going around. I know very healthy people that aren't taking it so well.

Sigh.. I spoke to mom about making an appointment with her doctor next week and she said, "no, I'm getting better." I tried very hard to convince her but still, the answer was no, so there's nothing I can do but keep an eye on her. I'm also looking after myself the best I can. I've worked way too hard already to improve my health to have a setback. The idea actually frightens me. I've made improvements to my wellbeing I didn't know was possible. Do I still have fibro? YES. Diabetes 2? YES. It has been far from easy but I'm working hard to get better. Thank you for being here and caring so much. I have no other support here. Again, thank you:) {{{hugs}}}

Ruby, I understand eactly how you feel about the improvements that you have made and how fearful it is to think about a set back. So, as one immuno compromised person to another, remember this; take care of yourself first, because if you get sick then there will be no one to take care of your mom!! But even worse, there will be no one to take care of you!! You are very important to me, and I don't want to see you have a setback!! You have come too far!! If you feel the need to vent, send me a pm. I have been there and understand all too well the stress involved!!

Hey Ruby, Hope your mother is feeling better. I would call on Monday to her regular doctor/nurse and get an appointment for follow-up form the ER. They will fit her in. Bring all her discharge papers from the ER with so they know what happen. Is your ER/clinic linked so her primary doctor has access to the labs/x-rays done? I am sorry you had a bad experience with the ER physician. There are always a few that make the rest of us in health care look bad but then that is in every area of service is seems. Why can't we all simply be polite. Take care and I can relate to the Fibro issue. I deal with it on a daily basis but keep moving. Some days are just bad and you muffle through them hoping the next will be great. Take care, Neesee :)
