BuffyBear's Journal, 30 September 2012

You see the most interesting things at Sam's Club. They were offering free samples of Sensa (a powder you sprinkle on your food - supposed to help with weight loss). But the Sensa sample was served on a chocolate chip cookie! Needless to say, I passed on that nonsense.

I baked some liver treats for the dog this morning - talk about stink! Good thing it is the perfect temperature to have the windows open and the fans running. Funny thing with animals - seems like the worse it smells the better they like it. I now need to go bake some "people treats".

Today I am thankful for this perfect fall day. Wishing you all the same.

Was talking to sister #2 this week and she said that sister #1 was doing the Sensa thing - you can eat ANYTHING diet - very sad really. Another friend is doing the counting *points* thing and yet can find points for DQ (not the no sugar added stuff either). People really do want to believe that they can continue to do what they want and still achieve the weightloss they need. Should make my little girl some liver snacks -- she likes peanut butter snacks and they don't stink but they do tempt me, lol. BEAUTIFUL fall morning here :) Happy Day!!

Gigi - I can just picture you and your dog fighting over the last peanut butter treat. But seriously, it used to be said that you can lose weight by eating the same thing as everybody else, but just eating less. Think it is that same idea manifesting itself in different formats.

That's really funny, Buffy. Good thing that you're smarter than the average bear. Your weightloss is amazing, Buffy. You're my inspiration.

Heather - you are so sweet to say that but I hope to one day be worthy to play on your level.

Buffy, I even bought that stuff a couple of years ago it is still in my cupboard another waste of time....LOL all that money wasted. I wonder if it has ever worked for anyone I have never heard anyone I know say you know Sensa it's great it works....someone will probably say they know that person..

Yvonne - Sensa works great - it works great for the owner of the company who is raking in all the profits.

Wow...you are an awesome. baking treats for your doggie. LOL @ the fighting with the dog over the last PB treat...actually, if my snack has any PB in it, my doggie-girl brings me her "Kong" toy (that red rubber thing I fill w/PB for her), & then INSISTS very loudly that she get some PB...very predictable & totally funny!

GG - I appreciated all 3 comments! Dogs do seem to know exactly what they want and they are getting pretty good at communicating it to us.

I'll bet those doggies love those liver treats! I haven't checked into them yet. My little runt is a glutton, but I can't give him anything above a 1% fat content (occasionally I cheat with something that says 2%). So far, I'm keeping up with dehydrated sweet potatoes and chicken jerky. He seems to love both. The sweet potatoes are easy and fast, but he's like me; after a while he's got to have the meat.

DairyKing - I'm under the impression that you spoil everybody - dogs and humans alike.

Oh Buff... did you add the pumpkin? I didn't notice the house smelling too badly but I had so many things going on that day I made mine, I was pretty frazzled. I have a few left of the batch I made. I froze them all. The dogs eat them frozen. I know.. I am bad... hee hee... less stinky that way. ;)

At least with the smell, there's little chance you'll get them mixed up with the "people treats"!!! Your dog might not mind the switch, but your DH might!

Sandy - you are right - these sure don't smell like chocolate!
