I can't believe the stir I caused by just asking if anyone else was on the HCG diet and how they are coping. I have realized that the calories are just too low for me and have increased. Today I added 2 egg whites to my 1/2 grapefruit and I actually feel good. Last nights dinner was yummy. I have to say that I thought it was hunger pains but I have come to the conclusion that I was so use to stuffing my face at every meal to the point that I wanted to vomit to realizing its ok to eat enough to just feel satisified and then push the plate away. I saw some replies to my post "30#'s in 30 days. However the group I go to states that it will take me 150 days to lose 42 lbs.

I don't know what stir you caused, but now I am intrigued. What is the HCG diet - how low were your calories supposed to be? By the way, I think it is a lot healthier and a much more realistic goal to lose 42lbs in 150 days - about two pounds a week. Good luck.

It upsets others that the diet is so extreme. Is it the healthiest diet around, no. But being fat isn't healthy either. So we all have to go down our own path. I don't think I could do it, but if it works for someone and they can keep it off.

I have the post "HCG Diet" all I wanted was to find people who are doing it and to get feedback as to how they are coping. Instead I received comments about the dangers and how stupid this is. Almost 6 pages worth. And I believe they think I am a fake and not a real dieter, with real problems and questions. I was told 500 calories a day plus and additional 100 due to the fact that I am a diabetic. However 600 calories is just too low for me so I have increased my daily calories. I have friends who have done this diet and have been off it for over 6 months they have yet to gain any of their weight back in fact they have lost a few more lbs. It has helped them make smarter choices and it is helping me. When I first posted I was looking for people like me. Not haters. We can agree to disagree thats fine and if you don"t agree with how I'm doing it then please inform me of what you're doing and how its working for you. I have been struggling for over 20 yrs with my weight. I have tried every diet out there. This is working Sorry about that I needed to vent. I just was taken aback some of the ugliness that was posted. Thanks girls.

You have other supporters here, try not to worry about those people. I am doing very well and am on my second round of phase 2 and am hypoglycemic so I totally understand the struggles of a difficult metabolism for traditional weight loss. Good luck with the protocol and I hope you have really good results. Just stick to the HCG forums and you will find plenty of others that have done several rounds and have kept the weight off.

Are you taking the hCG and the 500 Calories. If you are hungry....it's all mental. The hCG helps up burn the fat. If you go to far over 500 you will store the food as fat and gain weight. We are here to help but there is a reason for 500. I can assure you after one great round and now on my second round, the hunger pangs are all in your head. You just think you are hungry. When you fell hungry that is your body using the fat hCG is releasing. It's a GOOD THING. About week 2 you get used to it.

Stick with it! I just had my blood work done - a complete work up and my health has NEVER been better. My sugar was down to 78 from 92. My cholesterol is 161. My Dr. says everything is amazing. I find that the people that are negative about the diet, are doing what I did initially. I figured anyone who eats 500 calories a day is going to lose weight. I then assumed that they gain it right back, so I never really listened to how and why it works. Over a about a year's time, I heard about it 3 times from different sources (GYOB Dr./PA/Owner of a Wellness Spa) until I finally was open to listening. So glad I did! I started out about 10 years ago at 24o plus. Over 10 years I completely changed my lifestyle and learned how to eat and make better choices but I could get past 165 no matter what I did. Once I decide to go for it, I did follow what's called Phase 1 and lost 10, and then another 22 on Phase 2. I started Phase 3 recently and have found this phase the most challenging (deciding what to eat). I like to know exactly what's permitted and this part is a little more vague by saying don't eat anything with sugar or starch so I've been searching for consistency in advice as to what that would include. For example, natural sugars such as in apples/grapefruits are okay, added suger is not, and then figuring out exactly which foods are starchy and to what degree, etc. It takes a few weeks for your body to adjust and process the increased fats but I know that this works and it will work for you too.

The first few days on the 500 calorie diet were not fun at all. I actually called my dr's office to make sure I was doing it right. The first day I was miserable but made it through, the second day was a little better and the third day was even better. Your body just has to get used to a new way of eating...but that's all it is. I'm on my third week now and it's actually hard for me to eat all the items that I'm supposed to now - never thought I would say that!! I promise that you can do this - just keep telling yourself that it's only for a set amount of time. Good luck! BTW, my doctor actually suggests following the South Beach Diet Phase I for the three weeks after I finish the Hcg since it cuts out the sugar and starches and then gradually adds things back in toward a healthy diet.
