Ok, so I actually started Atkins 16 days ago and have lost appr. 8 pounds but haven't lost anything in nearly a week. WTF? From what I'm reading at the Atkins website I may not be eating enough (never had that problem before). I'm just not hungry and have no appetite! I guess I should be grateful for that, but I've got to make sure I eat enough and eat the right things!
Also, I have had a cold since Sunday so I don't know if the lozenges and throat spray were jacking things up, so I stopped taking everything by the nasty, uncoated cold tablets as of yesterday. Fingers crossed.

I'm feeling exactly the same way. Have lost 9 lbs in the same time frame and have been at a stand still for about 4 or 5 days. I keep holding strong in hopes that it will pick back up.

In order for atkins to work, you truly need to eat 1500-1800 calories a day, and no more than 20 net carbs. Check your calories and if low add some fat, ie. butter, olive oil, regular mayo to your meals. There are no carbs and are fat and calorie packed, which is wht you need to succeed on atkins. If you need any help just ask. There are lots of nice peole, mre than willing to lend a hand. Welcome to FS and welcome to your new WOE (way of eating)!

Weight loss will and does often come in spurts. It is very common that you can lose a good deal, stop for a little while, then see a drastic loss again. If you know you are doing everything right, it will happen. Also, if you haven't done so yet, take body measurements. Just because you aren't losing pounds doesn't mean you are losing inches.

It is true that some liquid cold and allergy medicine has carbs. For example there is 1.5 grams of sugar in liquid Benadryl thus 1.5 grams of carbs. They have to sweeten this stuff up to make it taste better so I would watch out for the cough drops, cold syrups etc. There used to be a lady that had a GREAT low carb website and listed the carb contend of practically everything. If anyone knows what it is please let me know. Good luck!!! You will start losing again. Also remember that TOM can cause your weight loss to stall too. Have you bought any Keto Sticks to check and see if you are still in ketosis? I would say that if you are don't worry about it - you are doing everything right and the weight loss is sure to follow. If your not then I would try to stick to pill form medicine only. Keep us posted.

As others mentioned, you really do have to eat enough food to lose... that means at least 1200 calories. As for the number of carbs, that varies from person to person. My sweet spot for losing on Atkins was 1400 calories with 40 carbs/day. That took me from 250 to 185 very succesfully many years ago. Just be patient and keep on doing it the right way and eventually you will see results. The scale can be very misleading. Lots of things can affect the numbers on the scale. You just have to faith it's working and look at the long term goal instead of "this week". Most importantly, make sure you're getting all of your veggies in. That will also help you a lot. You should not be adding in just pure fat to get your calorie count up though as someone else advised, lol. Dr. Atkins would be rolling over in his grave if he heard that. Instead try macadamia nuts or other well balanced protein/fat food items to boost the numbers up.
