Frustrated - I have been really working on reducing my carbs in the evening so I can manage close to normal blood sugar levels. Last night tested and was at 98 (a tad high but all good). I wok up thins morning and tested - 129. I think my pancreas is going out for fries and a shake while I am sleeping. I'll keep plugging away at this as it might be the dawn effect or a one time glitch. Either way My pancreas is kind of a jerk and he is not going to ruin my day. Rant over. Onward to coffee and an awesome day.

dawn effect is there for everyone. by going without carbs (higher carbs I mean) at night you can reduce this. and it sounds like you are working toward that goal. a dinner of protein and green veggies instead of having other types of carbs can get you there. nice stuffed peppers with riced cauliflower instead of bread crumbs or oatmeal is a nice change of pace. salad with a protein. so many ways to have an interesting lower carb meal in the evening. I even love omelet with veggies and cheese for a change.

A lot of us low carb people are here because of health issues - diabetes or otherwise. Keep at it and hopefully you will be healthier in the long haul. @baskington offered some great advice for meals.

I have had that craziness during a multi-day fast. I know I had no carbs for a day and get a reading in the 90s. My body could care less about my diet plans :) It simply does what it feel it needs to do :)
