Officially into week 3, I have no idea what day. I coaxed my husband and 17 yo daughter to start in on the diet last week. It'll be good to have family support. My teen is already seeing results, less than 5 days into her program. My husband, also seeing large weight losses, is struggling with heart palpitations and nausea. He feels so crummy this morning that he was talking about quitting the diet. He just started taking a multivitamin, magnesium and potassium supps yesterday, so I urged him to give it 48 more hours before giving up on it. KETO flu is no joke, my husband has more will power than most, so I'm worried about how bad he really is feeling.

As for me, because, let's be real, it's ALL about me... I'm feeling great. I'm still a little foggy, struggling with short term memory a bit, but my energy is great. I was down another lb on the scale this morning :) I'll log it tomorrow with the family weigh in.

men I think need more carbs than women do, their metabolism is different than ours. more protein and more carbs. and yes those suppliments will definitely help but try to make sure he gets more healthy carbs (veggies, maybe double) into his system. and salt! When I had those heart palpitations in the beginning I had to get those suppliments and salt in.

I just want to chime in and say that I had heart palpitations for a while too. It was very annoying. Definitely get him to drink broth. Electrolyte capsules from Whole Foods helped me a bit. I'm so glad I stuck with it though. There is NOTHING like the feeling being "fat-adapted" after the icky phase passes. Omg-- I feel 20 years younger, full of energy, great even-keeled moods and sharper brain. That's not even going into how different I look! I hope your guy feels better soon!
