Congrats! I've been trying for a month now, did 2 weeks and caved for 5 days😢 back at week 1 again! Did you go cold turkey or use any products?

I gave up by reading Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking. I had a 40+ a day habit and had smoked for 30 years. Tried to give up loads of times and couldn't - his book made it so very easy. I stopped with 1400 duty free ciggies in the house too.

That’s a very nice one! I will be one year free on 23rd of August! Believe me, you can do it! And believe me it is harder to loose weight than give up cigs! Keep it up!!!

Yea that’s the worst about quitting I gained 10lbs after I quit even though I tried not to eat more it’s inevitable. It sounds stupid but I kinda started smoking thinking it was an appetite suppresser and I might lose weight sounds stupid I know ! But now that I have quit I have realised that most things in my life are driven by my desire to lose weight

Congratulations! I'm smoke free too for 4.5 years after 22 years of smoking (started when I was 12). I've tried everything to quit, until I realised that there is no "trick" to it. There's no way around it, it's just bloody hard and you have to hang in there. Eventually it gets easier and easier...until you don't think about it anymore. One thing that helped me quit, even if it seems drastic, I saw quitting as a black/ white scenario. It was either that I quit smoking or I would die a horrible painful smoking related death. The fear kept me on track honestly and it worked! Congratulations again and I'm sending you the willpower to never take even one puff again! :)

Wow I am so envious of shaz for only gaining 10lb I gained 4.5 stone 😂 it is kind of unavoidable addictions have to be substituted initially, Wowser, I found it easier to cold turkey if I'm honest rather than cut down when I was cutting down first I was getting snappy veyy easy where was cold turkey not as much, I didn't use any aids/help I just accepted the downfalls like weight gain and never looked back. It's been 2.5 years for me now and to be honest feels weird to think I was ever a smoker it is just alien now haha only problem I got is the weight now but I'd would 100 times rather that!

I paid a lovely lovely man in London to do his NLP and hypno tricks and not only did I give up on the spot I didn't gain weight - in fact it was one of the best periods of weight loss I've had. Granted, it cost me about two months worth of cigarettes but it was worth it and a price worth paying as it was also utterly painless. I am in awe of anyone who can do it without help although if anyone is having trouble, I had previously given up for three years with Allen Carr's book (the long version) which was practically painless, just had to put up with his ridiculous ranting!

I didn't put any weight on either with stopping smoking.

I just went to help 2 quit and they gave me patches and gum and that helped me wein off slowly and now I'm free of it all completely.

I tried patches but they burned my skin, so painful. For me hypno was the only way and the NLP Max incorporated really helped. Whichever way you do it just taking the decision to stop is a real achievement and one you should be proud of.
