Sandy701's Journal, 16 July 2012

If I were like the people who say they "give 110%" or "150%" of effort, I'd say the UGH Index today was at least a 12......but I'm not like that. LOL! The UGH Index was a 10....a blistering 94 degrees when I finished up my 3.1-mile walk, sunny, hot, humid, no breeze - YUCK! That's actually a couple degrees past what I consider to be my limit.

No adverse effects (yet) of having a low carb tortilla last night. The brand (Tumaro) is the same as I used to have fairly regularly about 2 years ago, in the first several months of OWL and I had no problems then, either. I just stopped using them to better keep my TOTAL carbs in line. These tortillas are 4 net, but have 11 total carbs. If one is trying to stay well under 50 TOTAL carbs, that's still roughly 1/4 of one's daily total.....which is a LOT for just one food. I love the Carb Balance ones from Mission, but, even now, I'm hesitant to have them very much, as they're 18 TOTAL carbs and 6 net. So, I'll stick with the Tumaro brand for now.

Well I'll say it for you - you gave at least 110% today! You are toughening up! Nice to be able to experiment with different foods. Enjoy life below the blue line.

I will be borrowing your UGH index...Again...Although you have it way worse than we do here in Wisconsin, so only at a 6-7 this morning maybe & even at that I struggled trying to run just 3 miles! I hope you got right in that pool when you got home...doggies too! Now, on to the important things...Food...LOL! Glad you didn't have any adverse issues from the tortilla & I agree, they are "expensive" in count, but as a splurge item now & then, totally OK to have! I was catching up on journals & happy to hear you went shopping, so I hope you at least got something blue to go with your ticker!! Congrats again!

Ok Buffy.....YOU can say I gave 110% but I won't go there myself....:)

GG, the only blue item I got was a pair of swim bottoms I just ordered from Lands End, up your way. Can't have a too-big swim bottom coming off now, can I? Sorry about your weather....for folks that can have snow, an UGH of 6-7 can be brutal!!!

Oh! I love Lands End swim suits! They make durable quality items! You deserve a new bathing suit!

I have never understood the over 100% remarks..how can you give over 100% of any thing..I mean 100% is all there is...LOL...So glad you can eat more carbs and not be afraid..enjoy them when you can....:O)

W4, I tried LE for swim for the first time late last summer. The stuff is great except that both bottoms and tops have gotten too big, esp. the tops that also had padding where I don't need any! But this year, there are a couple styles with underwire and removable pads, so I'm going to see if that is better for me....keeping my fingers crossed.

Bren, that was my point exactly, but you know how over-used those expressions are! 100% is 100%, that's all there is and there ain't no more!! Believe me, I'll enjoy a few extra carbs here and there, but I really don't anticipate any major changes....that would be tempting fate!

I like BHA's comment about giving 100%. I have a co worker who states that she agrees with me two thousand per cent. That agreement is pretty emphatic - huh!

Wow....when she agrees, she REALLY agrees!!!

LOL...so glad you got bottoms that won't fall off...we don't need to see all 100% of the real you, some things are supposed to be a mystery!
