Tried butter coffee this morning--tastes rather disgusting and I didn't find that I stayed full. I guess that I'll try it for a couple more mornings and see if I can get used to it and see it is any more filling the next several times.

I love it. Try heavy whipping cream+MCT oil instead. it'll be a bit "creamier". And be sure to use unsalted butter. And definitely not margarine. lol

yes, the butter coffee is a little gross to me to. I just use a healthier oil mixed with some powdered coconut milk instead. jpdenson's tip is great to. keep trying until you find something you like <3

I will also chime in with a vote for MCT oil in coffee. The bottom line as I see it don't try to 'get used to it'. If you don't like it, you don't. Look for other means to accomplish the same thing. Its the concept and strategy of what ever you choose to follow that is important, not the detailed execution. Experiment within the framework, find something that you like and fits in your life and run with it!

It is important pt be sure to blend, blend , blend the coffee with the unsalted butter, coconut oil, MCT oil or whatever you choose. If it is not blended well enough, it will not taste frothy and palatable.

love the bullet coffee or chai tea
I use 1 tablespoon butter 2 T heavy whipping cream and One T coconut oil in mine and run thriugh the blender or shake maker is a must. I add some sweetener to the Chai tea which is yummy in fact going to have some right now for a snack need to get my fats up/

I used MCT and heavy whipping cream for several months and it tasted fine and didn't need blending. Be sure to buy MCT that is made from Coconut oil; some on the market (now that it's a big market) are more questionable. Since I need to drop my calories - not debating on the concept - and I tend to add too much cream, anyway, I stopped adding the oil and saved 130 calories a day.

Also try an emulcified MCT. I used Natural Force, Vanilla flavored emulcified MCT oil. It was great. It's white and creamy just like a coffee creamer and even mixes easily with iced coffee. And as someone was saying below, it's 100% coconut sourced...not Palm or kernel oil. It's fairly cheap on Amazon. Good luck experimenting and finding what works for you. :)

My hubby puts MCT oil in his protein shake. He didn't like butter coffee either.

Thank you all! I've finally found a brew that works for me and within 4 days I started producing ketones. Hurrah! Even with whipping cream & 2T of MCT, it doesn't always last me for 4 to 6 hours, but it generally does. And that's a big help in keeping my calories down. Plus I do seem to have more energy in the mornings.
