Happy Week,my Best Buddies:

The weather is completely gorgeous today in the North Country! The sunshine really helps, doesn't it?

Weather is also gorgeous in West Texas. Fall has finally arrived. We try to get as much sun as we can...Good source of Vitamin D and certainly lifts our mood.

Checked out the State of Alaska's obesity rates to see if there's any correlation regarding amount of sunshine vs. their overall lifestyle poundage, and found that actually, the Southern states in the East have far worse obesity problems, despite having the most sun in the winter (due to their proximity to the Equator). Check it out: http://stateofobesity.org/adult-obesity/

It's Indian Summer here in the South. Cool nights, warm days. I've been here 15 years, and there's a pattern that happens every Fall. We go from hot and humid to that first, glorious, crisp, cool morning sometime in October. It lasts about a week, with dry air and mild temperatures. Then the heat and humidity return, but not with quite the intensity as before. For a week. Then true Fall sets in, and daytimes are in the 70's, nights in the 50's for a couple of months. My definition of Heaven!

Normal yo-yo October weather here in Kansas City 80's one day and 's the next. AC is on one day -- heat the next. Insane!! My AC gets turned off tonight and then the heat will be on tomorrow evening as the low is supposed to be in the 30's.

@ SSS - that is interesting. Although that part of the country gets more sun, I bet the obesity has to do with traditional "southern" cooking typically high carb, high fat fried foods and/or lifestyle that does not promote exercise either.

HCB you are correct. Florida heat & humidity does not motivate people to exercise, but it has been cooling down at night now. After Laundry I did an hour walk at midnight at the apartment complex campus!!!! :)

Do you have one of those sun lamps? I know fall and winter are hard for some people, however I have the opposite. It's all really learning isn't?

I am thinking we might move back East when we retire and are looking are Virginia...there is an Orange Theory Fitness there so I am all set! Humidity will not matter to me!
