I am a 58 year old woman with the hope of reducing my weight for my health and to meet my fitness goals. Up until I was about 45 years old, I exercised regularly and watched all my food choices. In fact. when I was 40 years old, I was in the best condition. This was an accomplishment since I had been an overweight kid, and battled weight off and on for most of my adult life.

Then, menopause hit and I started a more sedentary job...and I also have hypothyroid! I just slowed down and didn't seem to care anymore.

I have done organized programs at the gym, and food programs. I tend to do well for a while until I hit the dreaded plateau...and then I am discouraged and give up. I WILL NOT give up this time.

Nighttime eating
Peanut butter is mostly fat and high fructose sugars - so hard to resist! I switched to almond butter and it is OK. I tend to not overeat it and it has healthy benefits without the additives. Or maybe find peanut butter that is ONLY peanuts and a little salt.

Experience with planet fitness?
I am not a member at Planet Fitness - but I have gone there several times as a "drop-in" member. It is clean, has many options for cardio and weights, and has a no pressure environment. It is least expensive compared to most places, but you have to be very self-motivated.

Labs totally out of whack
So...it depends on what kind of carbs you choose to eat. Oatmeal is good, fruits and veggies are good.
