Good Morning, FS Warriors! Woke up to the bleating of the alarm at 3:30, reached over and hit the Snoooooze button. Woke up 5 minutes later to the sound of a hairball being coughed up, on the window sill. Oh, yuk! Thank you so much! So, out to the kitchen to pick up the paper towels and spray disenfectant cleaner. The cat is like, "It wasn't fun for me either, Big Guy!" Well, go do it somewhere else, and have a little compassion here, OK? "Meow."

Ran about 3 miles, but the watch malfunctioned again. Had an error come up when it tried to upload the workout. I reset it to initial factory settings. Put all my profile data and preferences in it, and I'll give it a go again tomorrow. As a backup, I put the SportBand, that I used prior to getting the GPS watch, on the charger. I will wear both tomorrow and log my workout one way or another. The run was so-so. Ran at a fairly slow pace, which I seem to be doing a lot of lately. I've trained myself to run slow over the last couple months and now I'm struggling to reach the pace at which I used to be able to run, just last year.

The potluck was just OK. I am sure that the food was wonderful. However, we were the last couples to go through the line, and there wasn't much but a bunch of sugary desserts, some spaghetti in a crock pot, and some salads. DW had also made a shrimp salad and that was pretty much untouched so I tried it. It was pretty good. I ate some spaghetti, some mashed sweet potatoes (not the brown sugared marshmellowy kind) shrinmp salad, and a jello salad with bananas, cherries and pineapple. It was the least destructive of all the desserts on the table. It wouldn't bother me that the fried chicken, meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, corn and all that stuff was gone - if we hadn't watched the pigs that went before us coming back with 3 or 4 pieces of chicken and meatloaf, and heaping helpings of other stuff, all on the same plate. I don't like being judgmental, and I don't want to come off as a bleeding heart, but I was taught to get reasonable helpings and go back for seconds after everybody had gone through the line once. It doesn't work like that anymore apparently. On average, the people put 3 or 4 different desserts on a salad plate in addition to their regular plates. That just isn't right. I got plenty full, and I struggle myself with portion control, but these people put me to shame. And we talked last month about people bringing plastic bags in their purses and loading them up while they eat. None of these people went through the Great Depression, and none of them, that I know of, are destitute, so I just don't get it. Well, it is what it is.

Dropped my big baby off at the Vet this morning. I got to walk him back to the kennel they will keep him in overnight. He's like, "Are you kidding me, this is not even 1/10th the size of my home, and you're going to make me go in there?" I walked him in, and left the Vet with two bags containing his food for this evening and tomorrow morning, and a big ole dog biscuit after each meal. I'll pick him up sometime tomorrow morning. He gets an injection this afternoon, and apparently one in the morning before I pick him up. I felt like I ought to have left a teddy bear with him or something, but he's never been one to have much to do with toys. I buy them for him and he just takes them outside and leaves them there. The only toys he pays attention to are the ones you can stuff food in. Haha, guess it runs in the family. LOL!
Well, got to go back to work. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend! Toodles!

I hate dropping our dogs off when we go somewhere...our newer one is a rescue and has awful anxiety so he just cries and cries and jumps, it's heart-wrenching. BUT he has to get used to it someday, we load them up with toys and unwashed blankets too so it's a bit like home. Luckily we have two so they don't get lonely. I'm sure your pup will be just fine! Hope he does well with his treatment!

Wow - watching that plate loadup brought back memories. I don't know if I ever mentioned I used to work in a nursing home and was always AMAZED the way people ate (not the residents - the family) at the parties and dinners we'd have. They would load up like they hadn't eaten in days. And rarely EVER was it 'for Momma'. I just wanted to whack them with serving tongs.

Haha, Bella, buffets seem to bring out the evil side in people. Ever see people fill their plates at buffets like the Golden Corral? Piled 3 stories. It's all you can eat, people; you can go back if you're still hungry! Chances are you could use the exercise anyway. LOL! And the chocolate fountain, where you stick a strawberry under the stream of chocolate. Really bad idea! One good sneeze and your goodwill offering touches the lives of all who indulge in the fruit of the cocoa bean.

I laughed so hard. I want more conversations between you and your cat and your dog. Maybe a conversation between the two of them that you happen to overhear one day. :D

Awww my pups wouldn't know what to do at the vet's either. pot luck sandwich thing at work today. Same thing happens here. I had a bit of mixed greens salad, a bit of my tabouli, a couple TBS each of 2 chicken salads, a croissant, and a tiny piece of carrot cake. Skipped all those deli meats, chips and deserts,

You sound like me talking to my cats... LOL!! Pup will be in good hands, then he'll be overjoyed to see you tomorrow! As for potlucks, they're exactly as they sound, LUCK. I know of which I speak-I have worked in call centers for 18 years now. We had one where we CAREFULLY ordered chicken with 2 pieces in mind for each person. Well, with no one policing it, the piggies got 3 and 4... Then my team, who at the time worked a later shift, got BUPKUS. Jerks. Oh well, you work with what you've got. And your description of Golden Corral? EWWWW. There's precisely the reasons I will not eat there... *shudder* Keep on truckin', friend!

Well, the Tech at the Vet says my doggie is doing great. Had his pain meds prior to his first injection this morning, and has a bunches of treats since then and is doing fine. They all love him there. He'd be 120 lb. lap dog if you let him. Lickingest dog I ever had!

Glad your dog is doing great. Love your "conversation" with the cat. Hairballs are really tough on the cat, but so gross to our ears :) You did a good job at the buffet. Too bad some other people didn't. Some people!!

Ha HA HA - I love the PotLuck story...we went on a Buffet boat ride on July 4th and by the time we got to the buffet, there was nothing left due to the people ahead of us taking two and three of everything! The crew said, "We told them not to do it and we are sorry you got no dinner." Humph...refund the $39.95 per person then! Of course they refused... People are essentially greedy about food - want to get their moneys worth or something! I did not care since I had eaten good protein before I left that evening! My poor husband literally ate a plan burger bun with no meat and an ear of corn...for $39.95!

We talk like that to our furbabies too, LOL! I'll tell ya though, I'll take a kitty's furball over changing a real baby's messy diaper ANY DAY! :b I've had similar buffet experiences too, & it really is frustrating. Especially since, as some have mentioned, the ones who really pig out are often those who brought very little if anything to share. I hope you get your "techno stuff" problems worked out. Have a super awesome weekend! GLAMMER

The Vet called me this evening to tell me Mack is doing great. She was glad I gave her the baggies with the dog food for each meal and the large dog biscuits. She said that the biscuit was his favorite part of the meal. Oh yeah, he's a glutton! She also said that they found a small tapeworm, and they wanted to treat him for that. Said it was pretty common in hunting dogs, when they find a rabbit or something. I said, "He doesn't go out of the yard except with me, and I don't know if he'd know what to do with a rabbit or squirrel, except maybe chase it." Anyway, she wanted permission to give him medicine for that too. I said, "Of course, whatever he needs." I'll still pick him up tomorrow morning. Feels weird not spending time with him this evening. I see I'm not the only one who has witnessed the buffet bandits. Sometimes I really wonder if they get it. I'm amazed at how few people seem to be able to put themselves in other peoples' shoes. It seems that the only people I know that can do that is my FS Buddies. :) Interesting.

My pup once had a tape worm and the vet said they can get it from eating poop from rabbits, foxes, coons and even cats. I walk her but when she finds a fresh one in the yard, she'll yank your arm out of your shoulder to get at it. They suggested we muzzle her when we walked her.

Probably true. I let the dog go outside the fence and run around in the rest of the yard when I'm out working. No telling how many animals have been out there. I doubt if they're brave enough to come inside the fence. He's got about a 1/2 acre to run in so I guess it could take him a while to get at a squirrel or coon. He's pretty fast though; looks like a quarter horse, from the back, as he's going across the yard.

Hope your pup is feeling better, DK. Get that watch fixed. Ugh! Well done on the running though

Love your conversations with your pets. I talk for my dogs all the time. They do get those looks in their eyes ... the eyes speak volumes, don't they? LOL! I was amazed at the difference in customers when we were at the beach and ate out every night. Our last night we ate at one of the "all you can eat" seafood buffets. It was pretty pricey but they had King Crab Legs AND Rock Lobster! There were lots and lots of obese people in there (myself included) but their plates were always loaded up each time they went back for more. I did go back but I had portion control. Ha Ha! (Every time .. oops!). *last plate was very scanty - really!* Seriously, the people in the sit down restaurants were mostly slim or a tad obese. Just goes to show. I am glad you furbaby is doing well with treatments. Big Hug!

Oh, I talk to my critters all the time..my bird talks back. Used to own a restaurant and we had a buffet on Sundays and did lots of banquets with buffets, real difference in the piles on the plates and the size of the person. I see that at work on foods d days as well.
