Good Morning, FS Warriors! Ughh, it was tremendously difficult dragging my hind quarters out of bed this morning. When the alarm went off at 3:30, I hit the snooze button, and I swear that it went off so quick again that it seemed like an echo. I had so many conversations with myself, trying to convince me to get up, that I couldn't go back to sleep for all the noise. Walked around in a daze, making some trips twice, because I forgot this or forgot that. Didn't get out the door until almost 4:15. Warmed up for a little over a mile and then ran at a tempo pace for another 30 minutes. Once I got out the door though, it felt better than yesterday. I looked at the weather report on my phone when I got up, and I thought it said it was 51 degrees. So, I thought that, being a little cool, but not too bad, I'd just slip a medium weight half-zip running shirt on, without a jacket, and go running. Got back home, sweating my a$$ off. Looked at the temp again and it was 61, not 51. Ughh! No wonder, 10 degrees makes a huge difference when you're running!

Great grandson was at the house when I got home, and he wanted me to throw the ball to him and let him hit it. The kid is only 3 years old, but just loves baseball. I was pretty close to him, but he was whacking that ball so hard that, if I hadn't been there when he was born, I would swear they lied about his birthdate! I finally got in the house, picked up my guitar and made it to church for worship practice. Then we watched the God is Not Dead movie. It was even better the second time around. It's got to be my favorite and realistic Christian movie, and not one of those Jesus is my boyfriend, everything is perfect when you become a Christian type movies. Some people think you have to check your intelligence at the door when you become a Christian; but to most of us who have become Christians, it marks only the beginning of a lifelong journey of seeking rational explanations for a myriad of world events and human psyche. I just love it when someone isn't afraid to challenge the theories of so-called intellectual geniuses. Anyway, good movie. I highly recommend it, even if you're not a believer.

Oh yeah, I got my watch to upload yesterday's workout to the Nike Connect website, following their instructions, but then it wouldn't upload this morning's workout. So, I followed their procedure to restore the watch to factory settings. I did lose the workout this morning, but the watch does seem to be communicating again. I will know for sure after the workout tomorrow morning. I will contact Nike to see if they will add the 3 mile workout this morning. They've done it before; it just won't contain the pace or HR information. Today's run was the one that took me over the 100 mile milestone since getting the watch. I am now at 498 miles since hooking up to the Nike Plus website, starting with the SmartBand before I got the watch.

We've got the monthly Church District's Seniors getogether tonight, which basically amounts to a potluck dinner. They usually don't do much at these things except eat. Whoa, do women in the church know how to cook! I think there's some people that can't wait to become seniors just to eat at these potlucks! :) I'm not going to lie; there's no way I would go to this thing and watch everyone else eat. I do try to restrict myself to one plate though. :) Of course, if you have to hold your other hand on top to keep the things from falling off your plate, then you have too much on there. LOL! JK, I don't do that. That would be embarrassing; I would go for another plate. Haha! I'm killing myself here. Yeah, I'm definitely still a work in progress. Well, Buddies, I need to go back to work and accomplish something. Here's wishing you all a great day. Toodles!

Ahh, I hear you on the church potlucks! I haven't had one of those since starting my new lifestyle. I'll have to give that some thought and pre-planning when the time comes. I so agree with you on that movie. There is a great book called "Tactics" by Gregory Koukl you might enjoy. I found his suggestions for engaging in discussions of Christian convictions to be very helpful, but difficult to put in practice.

Wow .. so busy! So future baseball hero in the making, huh Gramps? I agree.. pure faith is often argued. You either get it, or you don't. I think it's the opposite of checking the intelligence at the door. I think it signals an intelligence able to imagine and accept things beyond physical proof.

I don't know if FS still doesn't accept website URL's in the comments or not, so here's a link that you have to insert (.com) after runnersworld and before the /recipes). It's friendly fall smoothies, and I don't think you have to be a runner to appreciate these, supposedly even type II diabetics. http://www.runnersworld/recipes/runner-friendly-fall-smoothies?cid=NL_Nutrition_1849766_09252014_RunnerFriendlyFallSmoothies

Good job on getting up and out, even if you were a bit sluggish at first. You are certainly committed to doing your runs! I bet Great Grandson had a great time playing ball with you! Enjoy your potluck! You can run it off tomorrow. You don't want to hurt those great cook's feelings!

Nice journal, gave me a chuckle. I agree, God's Not Dead is a good movie and more realistic than some Christian movies I've watched. Have a tasty time at the potluck.

I used to love our family reunions because of the homemade food brought in ... and I am sure the potluck is the same. My favs were the pies. LOL!

Oh, Sandy, I am more tempted by spaghetti, tater tot casserole, lasagna and fried chicken than the sweets. If it weren't so, I would look like the Pillsbury dough boy! Unless it was mince meat pie, which I loved growing up. But I don't have to worry about that, seems nobody makes them anymore. :(

I love them too. I have to go cook dinner now and I am salivating all over my keyboard at all the food you just mentioned. Have a great night. Hugs!
