HCB's Journal, 19 July 2012

Had to do "Butt Kicks" on myself this morning to do my exercise - but finished the 30 minute kickboxing DVD. It was rough since I am still sore from yesteday's Jillian Michaels workout! I list the kickboxing as "fast step aerobic dance" on my exercise diary because it is not really circuit training the way JIllian's workouts exist. Inches may be moving but the scale still ain't!

Inches moving is good! The scale will follow, just have faith. You are doing well. :)

Sometimes my scale doesn't move for 10-14 days bewtween weigh ins. It got depressing when I was in a challenge, because I just don't lose weight weekly. It WILL come off, but sometimes it likes to take it's sweet time. You're doing a great job and I admire the Jillian Michaels and the kickboxing - and obviously with eating you've been on plan, too. It'll get there!

You've had such a dramatic weight loss for the first almost 40 pounds over less than 4 months, that your body has adjusted to this level of eating and activity. Some people use the 'spike' methodology to kick-start their metabolism when this happens. Also, you might want to check out the "How to calculate your RDI" topic I posted in Moderation Motivation a few months ago, just to double-check that you are at the right RDI for your TDEE since you've lost so much weight. You're doing exceptionally well, and I don't want you to get frustrated and bail. Keep up the good work; you're doing great!

Oh, I don't see her bailing. She just doesn't strike me as the "bailing" type ;)

Wow! Remember to take a step back and see the bigger picture! 40 lbs in 4 months?? You're doing fantastic! Stay the course! It's a world of a difference from the start to this point huh?

I'm on the 6th day of Jillian's shred now and the "butt kicks" always crack me up! Although weight loss is slow, I can literally see a difference. I prefer that to what the scale says. Gonna start measuring inches too. I already feel much stronger, & don't get winded nearly as bad. Keep up the great work!!

I worked out with Jillian this morning too! She certainly flares her nostrils out! She looks mad if we (you & I) don;t do the moves right! We did the 30 Minute Shred - Level I. The phone kept ringing & I had to take the calls for my hubby so I kept rewinding to the beginning of the segment. I think I did the workout twice! Lots of sweat!

Forgot to tell you something else about Jillian. There is one part of the Level I work out during the core moves when the viewer can see Natalie's white underpanties. Natalie is the tall beautiful, dark skinned woman on our left. My husband always shouts, "Look! You can see Natalie's underwear! See? There!" For some reason - that just cracks him up!

@ Dairy King - LOL, you don't know me...I AM a stubborn stubborn Taurus the Bull - I would not bail...ever. I may whine a great deal, but I do not quit things...so I'll see you in ONEderland, and beyond!

Oh no! Not another independent and stubborn FS friend! Will it ever end? :D Anyway, you still might want to check out the post that I mentioned. It seems pretty common for weight loss to get a little stagnant after a 30 or 40 pound loss.

I am so proud of yr motivation. I am stalling and frustrated, and not because of the scale.

For me the scale really doesn't matter, because the inches are so much more visible. Keep up the amazing work!

The scale will move, HCB. You are working your ass off!

WOW - thanks everyone! This is WHY I am able to stick it out and keep working - all the support!

Careful not to overdo muscle groups. They need time to heal and rebuild. So great that you find something to do each day. Are you taking days off?
