Start Weight:(03 Oct 11) 204.0 lb
Current Weight:(12 Jun 13) 180.0 lb
Goal Weight:170.0 lb
following: The Primal Blueprint
performance: gaining 0.3 lb a week

Age: 33 Height: 5'11''
Start weight: 225 on 15 August 2011
Goal: Maintain.

What did I do to lose the poundage? I ditched the carbs (refined sugar, bread, pasta, junk food; highly processed foods) and high sodium foods, ate food that grows on the earth, and got out there and sweated. That's it in it's most basic form. Eat right and move your body.

<<Primary goals>>

Caloric Intake: I don't count calories. If I eat reasonably healthy and natural foods, the rest will fall into place.

Diet: 200g protein / <60g carbs (100g MAX) / healthy fats / Low sodium

Tips:
1. Hydrate! 2-3 litres a day.
2. Rest! Especially if you work out!
3. Read your labels and keep it simple. I avoid anything with waaay too many ingredients. More natural ingredients, THE BETTER.
4. Arm yourself with knowledge on how the body's metabolism works. Know what it uses and prefers for fuel and what it does with the excess.
5. Utilize your diet calendar and watch for trends. If you eat a certain way and don't see changes on the scale, then switch your carb, protein, and fat intake around and again watch for trends. See what yields the results you want.
6. Watch your carb/sugar intake. For me, when I have a high protein and low carb day (30g), I wake up leaner. Give it a try.
7. Boost your metabolism by spreading out meals to every 3-4 hours
8. Resistance train to build lean muscle. A mix of low and high intensity cardio will serve you well.

My 21st family gathering = cakes, cakes and more cakes! :(
Here's a suggestion; I've been making some natural homemade ice cream and LOVING THE HELL OUT OF IT. Easy too. For today's flavor, I mixed: 1 pint heavy cream, 1 egg, dash of salt, 1-2 tbsp sugar substitute (stevia is a good natural one), 1-2 tbsp sugar free strawberry jam, fresh strawberries (sliced and diced), fresh blueberries, and a tiny bit of vanilla extract. Froze it for a few hours then popped in the fridge. Sugar free deliciousness! I made a peanut butter, chocolate, and mint one the other day too. Ohh baby. >=D!!!

The rational and scientific weight loss discussion thread
My body doesnt respond well to processed carbs/starchy foods, so I try to avoid them. I can immediately see my cheeks and love handles puff up after a large carb/high sodium day even if I keep a calorie deficit. I've found for me that eating natural foods yields the best visible results.

So for my bod, the ideal is the best of all the strong opinions on here, If I eat clean and natural I will always easily keep my calories under 1800 thanks to feeling full and satiated. I'll feel great, and wake up a little bit leaner the next day. I've done my research, tried a couple angles, found what works for me, and have been happy since.

So, find your route, love it, and live it! Good luck to us all in achieving our goals!

No time for a workout? Got 7 minutes to spare?
Pure entertainment! haha. But the simple workout seems sound. Especially if on the road with no gym. But I'm sure I'd end up doing 3 rounds.
