GKS1970's Journal, 30 January 2012

Forgot to journal yesterday, mostly because I was a little bit sideways on my eating. I made a reduced fat, sugarfree version of a red velvet cheesecake and it turned out pretty good. However, I did not need to treat it like a calorie free food, 'cause it wasn't. I didn't spend an entire day making poor food choices, but I did overeat sweets, AGAIN! C brought home a 6-pack of Reese's Peanut Butter cups and I ate a pack for dessert, almost out of spite! Again, I realize that this only hurts me and what I am trying to accomplish, but I seriously had a WTF moment when he pulled out the package. I told him last week, "I think you want me to stay fat forever," when he brought home cheetos and pop and reese's minis. I don't think he intentionally tries to sabotage me, but he is effectively doing so nonetheless. He is not on a diet. He drinks at least 3, if not more, cans of pop per day and eats tons of food. I am not trying to change him, but I sure would like him to help me change myself. I better make myself clear to him about ways he can help or he will just keep doing these things, and I will continue to resent him for it.

It's funny how the significant others don't see their actions affecting us, but they do...obviously...my wifey says that she wants to "join me" in my new healthy choice menu...then she goes and grabs a bowl of jelly beans, a pop and a chocolate to sit and watch TV for a few hours...?? I try not to say anything, but when she says "how come I'm not losing like you, we eat the same food..."...it's really hard not to point out the snacking & that we only eat the same dinner...lunch and breakfast are up to her, breakfast for me is egg & toast with a coffee (using splenda not sugar)...for her it's a bowl of sugary cereal...snack for me is an apple or a banana and a coffee, for her it's chips and a pop...you see the differences, but she doesn't seem to get it...I try to not say anything, since she just gets defensive...but it ticks me off that she thinks she is "eating the same" as me, when she only eats healthy when I put the food in front of her (I am the cook in the house)...anyway, sorry to rant on your journal...I just wanted to say that I understand what you are saying, but maybe he doesn't even realize what he is doing by bringing in the temptations...Later.
