Wow, they say when things are going right things will happen to pull you down. I am a great professional and I pride myself on speaking. Someone at my job had the nerve to tell me because I speak with an accent and pronounce ask as axe, that it makes me seem uneducated. I was totally shocked by this, I have never had anyone say something like that to me. But you know there are alot of jerks in the world and you just have to deal with them. I am making good progress and I am not going to let them get me down.

Don't let anyone get you down and ruin your day. Were they just offering constructive criticism?

It hurts when people point out a flaw, but a grammar mistake CAN ruin a professional impression. It's like wearing tennis shoes with a power suit: a small detail that throws off the whole picture. Changing that one word will make a difference. Be proud of all the improvements you're making in every area of your life!

Constructive criticism isn't always something we want to hear but just chalk it up as lesson learned. Although it may have come across as harsh, they may have had your best interest at heart! Maybe they should listen to me talk and they wouldn't think anything else about the way you speak, LOL... I do realize that I have to "speak" one way in public whereas, I am permitted to speak as I please at home. Just think of it as school -- remember the old English teachers trying to make us use "proper" language??? LOL.. Don't Fret girl, I'm sure you are as sharp as a tack! =D
