What an eating disaster yesterday turned out to be. Mainly because of circumstance but also a bit of stress eating. When Madge phoned to say we would skip lunch and go straight over to Mum’s when she finished her work, I had my lunch then. About 10:45! (In my defence, breakfast was at 6:00 and I had already bought a crusty Low GI loaf, which was still warm on Lidl’s shelf.)
By the time 2pm arrived I was getting stressed and hungry. With no idea when I would next eat I had a mooch in Mum’s larder and found a box of chocolate biscuits. Enough said (well I didn’t want to eat any of her proper food stocks and the biscuits were just going soft from Christmas, so actually I was doing Mum a favour).
We were back home about 5pm, and after the busy day we had had just popped a couple of ready meals in the microwave. I had Sweet and Sour Chicken. Oh, and the remainder of the crusty loaf.
So as your see, a Carb Fest. I must have had about 5000 Kcals in total, of which about 3000 were refined Carbs. Just as well today is another Fast day.
What did I say about reaching my Target Weight in April?

Yesterday must have been the day for it - I had a couple of Jaffa cakes yesterday (after managing to avoid them, the chocolate chip cookies and homemade sausage rolls all weekend). Well, I say a couple - let's call it five. You'll get back on track, Jocko - just be aware you might feel a bit hungry thanks to all the carbs yesterday and be prepared to have something salty to assuage the pangs - I like teaspoonful of marmite in boiling water but a stock cube would do it. Have a good day

It's that time of year I think. Dark and miz breeds hunger for things we shouldn't eat. You'll weather this one Jocko.

Planned fasting for a couple of days doesn't set you back. But unplanned skipping of a meal does. Have I understood rightly, Jocko? If so, could it be your thwarted expectations encouraging you to eat? It may not really be the case for you, but it's a problem I have. Planning and trying to stick to it is key for me. Good luck for today.

Stress eating happens- you will recover - and be back on track in no time at all.

SP: I think it was more a case of I had bought the fresh bread special and it is never as crusty after a few hours, plus I had planned for and was looking forward to my lunch. The biscuits at Mum's were just boredom, if I am honest.

We just spoke to her on the phone and she is feeling much better. Mind you, the doctor didn't mess about, prescribing 500 mg Amoxicillin 3 times a day.

Don't beat yourself up Jocko. Everyone falls off the wagon. The main thing is drawing the line in the sand and having a good day today. Stay positive!
