Trying to get as much prepared as I can. Cooking at home and then carrying everything in to Mom's is a little daunting. Maybe I should have taken all the groceries to her house and cooked there. Anyway homemade noodles are cut and dried, giblets simmered most of the day, cornbread baked for the dressing, celery stuffed, fresh veggies prepped and dip made, stabilized whipped cream made, pie crust mixed and chilling in the fridge, turkey injected and marinating, ditto for chickens. Tomorrow I will get the potatoes peeled and ready to mash, bake my pies and DH will deep fry the marinated chickens. We will take some of them to our neighbors as gifts. The rest of the cooking will have to wait until early Thursday morning. I'm loving fixing this feast for people I love.

Sounds beautiful. I agree about transporting all that food. It makes things harder. What a lovely tradition you have in gifting your neighbors with food. (I will let you know when there is a house for sale on my street.)

Sounds great! Just curious...wouldn't it be easier to bring Mom to the dinner, rather than taking dinner to her?

Mskestrela, There are lots of her grandchildren coming from the city and it just wouldn't be the same if they weren't at "Grandma's House". So transporting is the way, maybe next year I will take the ingredients and cook at her house. But it is easier to navigate my own kitchen....

New traditions are formed as families evolve...sooner or later, grandma's house won't be there any more. Just a thought.
