Been having issues with gas. Possible due to protein powder. I am experimenting with different protein powders and digestive enzymes. The purpose of this is to track and compare scenarios in order to resolve the gas issue:

I took 2 Digestive AD2 with every meal.

I had moderate gas this morning and afternoon.

I use protein powder following weight lifting - it is good for me. Some proteins powders are whey which could be impacting you. Look for pea, hemp, and possibly soy based products. There are vegan protein powders you may like better. I believe Vega is the brand name and available at many places - Whole Foods for sure.

The first time I have heard this viewpoint. Interesting! I was under the impression that there are "Essential Amino Acids" not produced in the body: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine. Also, the reasoning for my protein powder supplementation: I have been doing P90X3 which is essentially a mix of weight training and Interval training and after about a year with a average protein intake of 120 g/day I began to plateau in strength/endurance. I decided to increase protein intake to 180 g/day average and monitor any changes in training. Within a week, my pull-up reps increases and was able to increase weight on a couple exercises. This is something I have not done for over 6 months. So I plan to continue with the increased protein intake and find a way around the gas issue if possible.

I stay away from Whey due to a dairy sensitivity. I have been experimenting with Pea and Rice protein concentrates. I also plan to try pea protein isolate. The powders are sweetened with stevia which could also be the cause. I plan to us process of elimination to find a solution.

Ahhh, stevia bothers me, too. Yes, the poster above has an agenda to convince others of his beliefs - do what you know works best for you.
