I don't think I eat enough calories. Do I have to reach the RDI?

This just my opinion, but your RDI is set for 1800 calories. You could reset it for 1500 and then be sure to eat all 1500 calories daily. When the body believes it does not have enough food, it seems to hold on to all the fat. If you feed it enough, it may release some of the fat.

I didn't even reach 800 today. It's not even on purpose! I don't even look at calories- I only look at carb content.

Same here, I look at carb. Don't reach my daily 1700.

I agree with HCB, and would suggest that you consider adding some "good fats" to your diet, like avocado. Adds some calories with very little carbs.

I ate half a can of Pringles last night to get more calories. That still only got me up to 1,055.

Pringles? really? not good for you at all. and full of sodium and carbs. I follow low carb and eat plenty of calories. If you are looking at carbs, eat proteins and high quality healthy fats. avocado, nuts, seeds, - healthy snacks and plenty of calories. Good Luck!

@Porchetaylor and Angiebaby......I think you should reset your RDI and find some good whole foods to fill the gaps. @Angiebaby......Pringles=empty calories that serve NO good purpose.

If you are not hungry I wouldn't worry about forcing yourself to eat something - especially not Pringles! On another day you may be hungrier and eat to your RDI. The RDI is a guideline, not the final answer about how many calories are "right."
