Steady progress, still. Food-wise, I'm not really feeling like I'm losing out which is great. When I'm going to work and sorting my stuff out for the day I feel like I'm taking a lot, but when I put it into the tracker on here it isn't. I feel like I'm doing well for my calories, I'm not going hungry at all. I do snack, it's a case of having to at work as, although course we're entitled, we don't get breaks. I know there are good snacks and bad snacks and I'm leaning more towards good than bad. Fortunately, I've never really been that much of a chocolate lover, yeah I like the stuff but I don't mind going without.

You can't watch everything you eat all the time, but it's good to develop an attitude and habits and learn a bit of discipline and routine. I say routine, my work doesn't really allow for routine as such, it's often that I'll only have two or three proper cooked meals a week due to my shifts. I try to eat as close to the same times each day though, whether I'm working or not.

My wife took a photo of me last Tuesday and put it on Facebook. It surprised me in a few ways. I was kinda surprised by the positive response, although I've had positive responses before and usually put it down to people being nice. But besides that, I looked at it and thought, what the hell, do I look like that? It's like I don't even recognise myself.

I can still see bits in that picture I'm not happy with, I could sit here and criticise it but I'm not gonna bother, who needs the negativity? There are more positives. It's a good 7st from the picture on my profile page and I'm 7 years older but feel like I look younger. I'm wearing jeans I bought a couple of years ago but could never get into and a jacket that I couldn't fasten for ages too. I'm doing well and I'm feeling good and I don't mind saying so.

No point criticising if the positives outweigh the negatives. You've done well and you've a right to be proud (plus you deserve that pint!)

As a complete stranger who makes a point to not compliment falsely - you have CLEARLY done so well for yourself so far! The avatar vs this photo don't even look like the same person. I know it can be hard to see, sometimes - it's a long process, and we get used to looking at ourselves and forget how much things are really changing! Save an old pair of trousers or jeans for the months ahead - and ask your wife to take photos at various points on the journey - at the end, you'll enjoy looking back and thinking of how far you've come! Congratulations on what you've achieved so far! :)

Sorry I thought I replied to these! Phooka, thanks. I know it's pointless criticising, it's just a silly force of habit. Hopefully that'll change too. real_gone_girl, thank you too. It is good, I know that. I'm just bound to have the odd wobble, whether that means eating, drinking or worrying too much. I'm still on course :)
