It's hard to get away from the carbs! Last night my husband, my son and I went to a coffee store, I didn't do that bad, well... I ate a little slice of lemon pie and a cup of coffee.

I'm controling my calories but I have read that you have to worry more about the carbs than the calories. But even the tomato has got carbs :/ I'm a little confused.

Calories are important, but you can eat 1000 calories in a day of a lot of foods that will never help your weight loss plan. You will do best by choosing from all four food groups to stay healthy while you loose. Additionally, variety in your foods is not only healthy, but will help you stay on your program. I also find that the night of the day you weigh-in is a nice time to reward yourself with a small piece of pie or cake, a scoop of lowfat ice cream, or a couple of cookies. Skinny Cow and Weight Watchers make some wonderful individually wrapped ice cream treats that you can work into your program without feeling like you've messed up. HUGE thing to remember: If you mess up, it's not a lifestyle, it was once. Just get back to your diet like you're starting fresh. Good luck!!

Thanks guys! I don't think I can find any of that stuff you named in Argentina. But I will take your advice, thanks again :)

get unsweetened whipped cream, whip some cream cheese, mix them together, sweeten with some stevia powder. Then get creative: add lemon zest for a lemon-y mousee, or cocoa powder for a chocolate mousse, or crushed berries (all except blueberries) for a fruity mousse. You can still have delicious, sweet desserts with barely any carbs at all.

Processed foods are the enemy,, stop eating them and you never have to count another calorie .. I have lost 24 pounds and never counted 1 calorie . But i do not eat anything but fresh whole foods including meat , all kinds beef, pork ,chicken, seafood all of it ,, I avoid anything processed by Man . If its in a bag or a box or has a barcode,, don't eat it .

Simple carbs are white rice, white bread, white flour, white sugar. But even complex can be a problem. Dieting can be a jungle to find what works for you. Tomato's are a complex carb as are most veggies, starches like corn and potatos can be an issue. Some fruits as well. There are some low carb recipes on this site. Good luck.

try and aim for under 30g of carbs a day and test fr keto -some people are more carb tolerant that others you may find you can raise the ammount - my personal limit is 45g before i get kicked out of ketosis - for every 1g of carb your body will hold on to 3g of water hope that helps :-)

im counting calories its working for me because i can have a little of everything i don't have to cut out some of my favorite food i just have to have less of them but you have to find what is best for you hope your weight progress is going well

Try to consume 48 grams of whole grain, per day. It can be as simple as a serving of shredded wheat! Whole grain carbs will stick with you through the day.

I know what you mean! I am only eating meat and veggies but it is so hard because I crave sweet sometimes and I have no idea what to have as a snack. I stay at 10-15 carbs a day. I have lost 3kg in a week but it's kind of hard when you have a toddler that won't eat that 2 last bite of bread or his last piece of fruit etc. I had a unexpected cheat day yesterday. I had to bake some cupcakes and make icing so I did eat 1 or two or maybe 3. I was shocked and disappointed at how many carbs tomato has and also sweet peppers. Very sad because I love a salad. This diet works best for me so everybody doing low carb, please send me your tips and tricks.

Carbs are more likely to make you retain water. If you're 'weight' centric without concern for fat, that's an issue. You'll figure it out as you go along. Only calories beyond you maintenance calories will cause you to gain fat. You'll find you can figure out whether your next day will be higher or lower the next day based on what carbs you've eaten. Fat loss is only truly exposed over time. Don't cut your calories too hard. 400 seems to be about right for weight loss without muscle loss. Muscle loss slows your metabolism.
