Who here is following (or trying to) clean eating? I'm calorie counting, but I'm trying to be more mindful of food additives, GMOs, etc.

I used to eat very clean when I was dieting. I'd say I was between 80% clean. I was very strict. Now I'm in maintenance and I've slacked a bit but still probably eat about 65% clean. I watched my calories but counted macros as well. I lost almost 60 lbs. I felt good but I'll be honest, it's hard to maintain that long term.

Remember when you was a kid…things were simple…no diets….didn’t even matter if you missed a meal…and you was probably healthier….that’s the end goal…being healthier…..not having to track it all….

@WBH... when I was a kid, I missed MANY meals because both of my parents were alcoholics, and I was STILL pudgy. Probably because when I DID eat it was potatoes, rice, flour, sugar, etc. There was no fast food for me in those days. 🤷‍♀️

...and it wasn't due to lack of exercise because I was locked out of the house to play in the mornings when I woke up & wasn't allowed back in until the street lights came on.

I'm mostly carnivore too, with an occassional veg side or some sauerkraut. It's easier to eat clean when you just avoid all processed food.

Eating clean - can we just normalize eating - do we need the descriptors? Just dont eat fried shit.

My grandmother lived to be 101 years old. She was just over a month until she would have been 102. Her idea of clean eating was making sure the dirt was washed off.

Love the pop tart thingie. I do restrict certain things in my diet. I don't usually eat a lot of highly processed foods if I can avoid it. I don't use caffeine. Don't like real salty things. Won't eat canned entrees, boxed dinners, frozen dinners, etc. I like foods with few ingredients. But I am not perfect. Just mindful.
