Gr8cop's Journal, 29 July 2009

I am at a standstill. Weight has remained roughly the same for the past couple of weeks. Caloric intake is less and exercise is more intense. Some articles I have read say that I may have cut my caloric intake too much (not intentionally). I have some noticeble muscle gain, and my workouts seems to be much easier, eventhough I have up the ante. Not sure what more I can do, except continue and do more weights. Any suggestions are most appreciated.

I am in EXACTLY the same position!!! I have searching the internet like a crazy person as im fed up with the comments of 'your not eating enough to lose weight'. Spoke to a nutritionsit and its a MYTH. Yes if you eat a low cal diet and dont exercise you will lose muscle which in turn will lower your metabolism (slightly) but you WILL still continue to lose weight. So i to am stuck!!! GRRRR Ive tried upping the exercise and nothing as yet.... If you hear of anything on how to continue please let me know. Im with you!!!!! With we can do this!!!

"http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm#" This web page gives guidelines on daily calorie intake and what happens if you eat to little. Interesting stuff and if you want put in my stats (409 lb, 5'10", work everyday) and what it recommends for me. I'd go broke trying to eat that much lol. "http://abcnews.go.com/m/screen?id=5198060" This page has the story of the guy who lost 86 lbs eating mainly McDonalds (not to be confused with Morgan Spurlock/"Super Size Me"). He skipped breakfast and ate aroun1400 calories a day its interesting that near the end of the article a nutritionist weighs in and says that he was eating a starvation diet and it was dangerous. Nevertheless he lost the weight and to my knowledge has keep it off so there's 2 trains of thoght on really low calorie diet.

You have to figure out what works for you and for your body-splendid gave you some great tools that are worth looking into. Another one is the american heart association website. As far as nutritionists go, everyone is different and there is no one recipe for success. I hope you find the answer and good luck.

You may be finding that you are getting leaner and smaller. Sometimes we go down in sizes but don't see it on the scale. This is another way to show weight loss (not just the scale). You basically just need to dig your heals in and keep changing things up. Those last pounds can be the hardest. You are doing great.
