I just got done lifting and I feel like a million bucks!! I took some advice from a volleyball coach that works part time where I work part time and started doing higher weight with lower reps. So then i can really feel the burn. Compared to what i feel now, I don't think I was working hard enough before. But I am worried, some people say lower reps, higher weight, some say higher weight lower reps... WELL I'm going to try the lower reps, higher weight for the month and see how that goes, I really liked the way it felt! but if anyone has some insight, I'd love to hear it. I guess someone was saying if i do lower weight and more reps for 1 of my 3 lifting sessions a week, that's good. but I just don't know!

I have been lifting weights all my life. Do the higher weights. Too many folks act like weights are supposed to be an aerobic activity. They are meant, in my opinion to add strength and muscle mass...don't let that last phrase "muscle mass" get you afraid. There is no way you'll look like a body builder. What you will do is get stronger and more defined. No need to go to what are called "failure sets" but I love doing 3 sets with an exercise...of 10, 8 and 6 reps. That 6 rep set will feel great. Good Luck with it, and make sure you give yourself a lot of rest between workouts.
