kathyeastlick's Journal, 12 December 2014

Had a pretty good day today. I ate so much better, and felt better too. I did stretches this morning, and also went for a hike with my dogs. I kept busy so I wouldn't think about food. Cleaned house, and wrapped some Christmas gifts. I still need to put up our Christmas tree, probably tomorrow! It helps so much to have a food journal. It keeps you honest!
Good night everyone, K.

Glad it was a good day. Assume your dogs liked the hike also, mine would. Have fun with your tree.

I agree food journal's are a great tool for losing weight! Hike's are the best especially with four legged friend's, as they never complain. Enjoy your weekend. Truly J.J.

Getting into the habit of recording what you eat is hard, I would never be where I am now without it. Doing it here s certainly easier than my old way of notebooks and hunting through multiple calorie books.

Wholefoodnut, Hi again friend! I kind of fell off the wagon a bit since Aug. What was hard was being able to pull myself out of the destructive place I was in. I just self medicated with unhealthy food, and gave up doing any kind of physical activity. Even the mutts looked at me daily wondering why I wasn't taking them for a walk! My son, the one that can always help me get mentally turned back around, had a serious talk with me, again. He just said, "Mom, just get out and walk, anywhere." I've found many excuses not too, but when he said, rain or shine, cold or hot, short distance or long, just get outside. He was right. I'm trying to use my "walk" time, as a time to re-motivate myself and a time to sort out some issues in my life that side railed me. Well as I type the mutts are whining to go outside for their walk. I'll ttyl, K.

I've been there, understand..have a daughter who did the same thing to me. Get off your butt and move, go back on your plan, you can do this.

Thanks. It's interesting which family members can get through to me, and which ones I get made at or take offense to! I know that this son, Dane has fought with his weight for most of his life. Down deep I feel like I need to show him that I love myself enough to do something about my weight. He has worked hard at keeping his weight under control, and understands what it takes to be healthy. I know how to work hard at loosing weight, but can't seem to keep it off. I think as I get older, I want to be able to do things with my family, instead of staying home bc I'm too heavy to walk, hike, bike, or fly. I do have to admit I'm enjoying my daily hikes. When my sons come home for visits, they go with me on my walks and are very surprised that I'm able to climb steep grades! It helps motivate me to keep improving. This year we went up on the mtn. to cut our Christmas tree. It was snowing like crazy, but I kept looking for the perfect tree! My boys kept offering to take me home, but I told them I was doing fine. It felt pretty good. I ended up with the perfect tree! Well that's it for today!....Good night. K.

So good that you have come this far on your journey. My family is that way as well. Some are more on eggshells, others it's straight out and accepted.
