Act as your own nutritionist, and things will happen for sure. Just stay focused this time around. The road is going to be bumpy at times, but that is when you have to let your "weight loss alter ego" take control. You can do it this time around.

Hi Marissa, I'm with puhpine ~ giving up is not an option. Many of us have blown it & had to start over, either completely or to make up for a time of losing control of our eating habits. That's why it's so important to make healthy eating a permanent change in our lifestyle, not just a temporary fix. looking at your profile I would like to make an important suggestion. Don't try to lose a huge amount of weight in a short time. Both weight loss statistics & my own experience show that people who do this nearly, if not always, regain all the weight they lost, & usually more besides. I know you want to keep the weight off once you lose it, but you didn't gain it quickly so it makes sense that to keep it off you must lose it slowly by permanently changing to healthy eating habits && exercising regularly. I am not a stellar example of this lifestyle, but I've learned that the best way is to only lose 1 or 2 lbs a week, which isn't very hard to do by eating sensibly & exercising for about 1/2 hour to 45 min's 2 or 3 times a week. I have very limited mobility due to Osteo Arthritis in most of my joints & other health issues, but I try to eat right & use my recumbent exercycle 3 times a week. I've been successful several times before with losing 30 to 60 lbs at 4 to 6 lbs per week, but it never stayed off. I gained it all back plus more each time, which is very unhealthy. When I behave myself & do this I am losing 1 to 2 lbs a week fairly easily. Think about this too, if you lose just 2 lbs a week you can lose over 100 lbs in 1 year. That's a lot of weight! I know that like me you would be thrilled to lose that much & keep it off. Losing slowly allows your mind, emotions, etc. to adjust to the changes in your body, which doesn't happen with rapid weight loss. I mess up fairly often because I love going out to dinner with my husband & 2 adult daughters, & we all love family parties & BBQ's & such. But I just keep trying to do what I know is right, & my weight is slowly going down. I KNOW I WILL I LOSE THE WEIGHT, no matter how long it takes. The only way we lose is if we stop trying, & I refuse to do that, & hope you will too. You are a lovely young woman, & YOU CAN DO THIS! I look forward to seeing your "Before & After" pics on here when you reach each of the weight loss goals you've set. That's why I love this group, the sense of being among friends, all heading in the same direction, struggling in tough times, supporting each other, & rejoicing as we reach our goals, & our ultimate victory. I wish you great success, & I'll be right there with you on the weight loss journey, so we can help each other along the way. ((Skinny Hugs)), Glammer
