I have been eating a ton of carbs, fat, and eating way too much in general over the last week, and I am up 3 pounds. The latest round of emotional eating was triggered by leaving a church where I was one of the worship band leaders. I was at the church for seven years. It really hurt to leave, but I did not approve of decisions that were being made and the way people were being treated by leadership, so I HAD to go. A good chunk of my social life revolved around participation in the church that I just left, so it is hard. There are also a couple of people that I THOUGHT I was close to that seem reluctant to talk to me now. It is sad, because this was NOT a decision that I took lightly, and I did everything possible to remain there even when some crazy things started happening. It is sad when people turn on you over a decision you didn't even feel like you had much of a choice about, but I guess you find out who your true friends really are!
My eating binge must stop TODAY. I am out of control right now. :-(

I understand where you're coming from with the problems at your church. I'm one of the worship leaders in my church and it's the main focus of my music now, plus most of my friends are there. It would be very difficult to leave, I'm sorry that you found yourself in that position. I hope that if there can't be a resolution to the issues at the church you were at that you can find a new church where you can serve with your talents and get plugged in with the people there.

Praying for you today about your church decision. Keep looking to God; He is faithful. I have my own things to work through in that area. You can remind me also!

I hope you find another church. I understand how difficult this was, because church becomes your social life also. Will be prayerful that you are led to the right one. Bravo for your stand. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. We can start over.

Unfortunately, it is usually during difficult times that you need your friends the most and that is usually the time when you see who your real friends are...the ones that stay by your side...
I just got this in my inbox and found it most appropriate for you:
“People will love you. People will hate you. And none of it will have anything to do with you.” ~Abraham-Hicks
So, obviously, those people have other deamons they are contending with.
Today is another day, another chance to refocus on YOURSELF and take care of yourself. That's all we can do.

Throw away or give away the cereal bars. No more cereals. Ditch all starchy carbs and sugars. Those will all give you cravings. Two or three days without them will likely see the end of the cravings. Cereal bars! Seriously! :(
