I am sooooo discouraged. I've gained most if not all of my weight back. (I had lost 50 lbs) Fast food still my downfall. I am close to no I am in tears about this. I know what to do but find myself unable to do it.

No discipline, don't want to hurt, don't want to be uncomfortable. Yet I expect it from others. Please, Father, help me.

Today is the ONLY day you have to deal with. What can you do today that helps you be the best you? I obsessively get on that scale every morning and pray the numbers are less. Somehow I am a good person if they are and not if they aren't. Did I do my best the day before? If so, that should be my scale on healthy living. If I didn't, then it doesn't make me a bad person because today I can do better. Let today be the day you prepare to make tomorrow the best day. If you stay focused on the mistakes, then you only see mistakes and continue to make mistakes. If you focus on the good, then you do whatever is necessary to maintain the good and you will do better. Of course it is so much easier to encourage others than myself. Because as fellow dieters we need to see other people succeed. It encourages us to succeed. So if you don't do better, then maybe I can't do better. I need to do better. So do better for others until you can do better for yourself. The next burger you order, eat everything but the bun. In fact, throw it out the window as soon as you get it. Feed the birds the bun. Little changes, small steps. Just for today.

Look up reviews on amazon.com for a book called "Becks Diet Solution". It's not a diet book, but one that helps people learn to deal with the psychological issues of weight loss. You lost weight once, you can do it again. But you want to make changes so you can keep them off this time. Check the local library too.

I hear you! I had lost nearly 60 lbs. last year and gained it all back plus some. I thought about bariatric sugery, took all the required test (there were a lot), seen the psychologist--all set to go. After talking to the psychologist I realized its not for me. There is a lot of things I can never eat or drink again. And your only aloud a cup of food per meal "FOR LIFE" if you mess up the diet it's very dangerous to your health. I decided, "Not worth it" so I canceled the surgery. That was back in October and I have lost 6 lbs. since the day I was weighed at the clinic. I have many health issues and have to go out of town to see some doctors, now and then. When I do, I eat and the In and Out or Denny's. They both have healthy choices. Another thing I do is I made a chart and put all the information from my fat secret on the chart. I looked up on the internet to get the nutrients I need and still lose weight. Each day I transfer the information from this site to my chart. (Cut and paste). I keep track of my vitals each day and if their not good I go back and see what I ate that my have contributed to failure. It really gives me insight and encouragement to figure out what I'm doing to make me fail. I take my chart to each visit with my primary care physician. She said if I had done that back a few months ago she never would have recommended bariatric surgery. I also pray every morning for guidance in making right choices. I lost it once and by the grace of God I'll lose it again plus some. Keep me in your prayers, I'll be praying for you. God bless!

You CAN do this!!!! Step 1: Eat right, Step2: Exercise everyday, Step 3: record an official weigh-in once a week, Step 4: do steps 1-3 for life. You CAN do this!!! I understand your disapointment, but I know that you can turn things around, you are already doing so by acknowledging where you currently stand today. Just like Dori from Finding Nemo says "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming". Get out there and make a change today and do this!
