TheOneAfter909's Journal, 27 September 2010

This morning I decided to try on my size 24 pants. I try this about once a month, and prior to this month, they did NOT fit, not even over my hips.

This morning, they came the closest to fitting that they have in almost two years! I could pull them all the way up, snap them and zip them. I've been wearing size 28 for so long that I almost cried.

However, they do not fit comfortably. Not yet. They give me a quite a horrible muffin top at the moment and would probably not be pleasant for sitting down for long periods of time (as I have to at my IT job). But it's so close. I know that next month, if I keep this up, they will fit.

Since they did almost fit, I tried on my size 26 pants that have been put away in my drawer. They fit, but unfortunately, I bought them during the phase where I was wearing 5" heels (what was I thinking??), so they were too long for my only-casual shoes now. But they fit. My size 28s have been so unflatteringly big on me, I can't afford different size 26 pants... but I think it will be worth it if I can get back into the 24s.

Hey, that's fantastic, congratulations! I'm a firm believer in "goal pants" myself. :) Keep up the good work!

Hooray for getting closer!! I think we're at the same stage. I went clothes shopping the other day & tried on some 24 jeans just for kicks & giggles & the exact same thing happened...there was a lot of unflattering bulging going on up above, lol. I did fit into a 2X top, which I haven't been able to do for a long time so you better believe I bought that bad boy! You're doing awesome, keep up the good work & those 24s will fit better than ever. :D

Thanks, Jessie! :) Kat - it was truly some horrible bulge, lol. I have a too-long shirt, and I was actually about to go for it, since in the mirror, standing up, long shirt and too-small pants looked halfway okay. Then I thought about having to sit here at my desk that way for what might turn into 10, 12 or 14 hours and came to my senses.

Pretty soon, pretty soon. In the meantime, don't forget to check in on some thrift/secondhand stores for some different 26's. Sometimes you can find some great bargains to tide you over until you drop another size. You're brave for ever wearing 5" heels. I look at those in the stores and I just know I'd fall flat on my face!

Great job! I used to love doing that. Another thing I liked doing the last time I lost weight was taking my baggy jeans off without having to unbutton and unzip them :)

I know odyssey one of my favorite things to do is get into a pair of jeans that were too small for me and now pull them off and on without unbuttoning or unzipping them! THAT'S a GREAT feeling!

Oh my word, TOA909, you are doing so fantastic. I'll bet that in another month the 26's will be way too big, and the 24's will be loose!!! I wear all skirts with tops and I love it when they can be pulled down without being unzipped. I have some that are size 24 and n ow when I out them on, they just all off!! All the way off. So they are in the donate pile. Congrats on all your hard work. You are really doing super!
