So is it me?? I couldn’t sleep all night. I was up at midnight until 4am trying to fall a sleep. I got up multiple times and checked outside and turned on lights. It’s so quiet. Too quiet. NY usually has street noise or some background buzzing. But last night nothing and it was sooo eerie. I could hear the noises the house made like the pipes cracking, etc.. I kept feeling like I wasn’t alone.

Maybe this stay at home thing is getting to me.

Look up the effects of 5G and wifi on sleep. We started turning it off and phones too at night. Sleep is MUCH better.

Jcmama - Oh wow. Yours sounds a lot worse than mine. I didn’t take anything to try to help me sleep. I tried playing ambient sounds but I was just frightened for some reason and was worried that the ambient sounds would mask someone trying to get into the house. It’s one of those nights I wish I listened to my parents and kept a gun in the house. I’m a NYer so I don’t do guns but I’m from WV and we are an open carry family.

@Flabby. I can’t turn off all my WiFi or cellphone. They run my house. The security cameras around the house connect to it. My phone is set to go to sleep mode an hour before bed and I meditate before bed. I do avoid the blue light effect before bed. Maybe it’s ghosts. A lot of people are dying here in NY for the virus they said. I heard one of the hospitals near me had to get a refrigerated trailer to hold the bodies.

@p$m mediation is good and I'm sure it's making it better than it could be. Maybe say a prayer. It sure is difficult when we rely so heavily on something (wifi) that could be pretty harmful to us. Best of luck.

I can't fall asleep without noise. I keep the TV on, low volume and I fall asleep almost immediately. I usually wake up as soon as the TV goes off automatically at 2am. I know people, including my doctor, say not to fall asleep with the TV on. But it works for me. Sometimes I'll fall asleep to music. It must be difficult being in New York City right now, for many reasons.

I usually sleep OK....not straight thru the night....I wake up occasionally but usually fall back asleep quickly. Last night I woke up & all kinds of things started going thru my head. At first random stuff but after awhile I started worrying about different family members....wondering about whether they were working from home or still going out. I saw a news clip of the hospital tents set up in Central Park in New York. That was after a clip of the Navy Hospital Ship pulling into harbor. For some reason that really got me. I live in a rural area so the noises are all nature outside. They continue....I couldn't fall back asleep til I cuddled up with my husband....something that usually isn't the case. After menopause set in years ago we usually stay on our own sides of the bed.

I'm sorry you aren't sleeping well. I fall asleep ok but start waking up at 1am. It sucks. I'm trying to clear my thoughts but doesn't always work... Hope it gets better for you!💜💜

Thanks CMC, HCB, and Sherry. I feel better knowing everyone else is experiencing similar things. Being home alone gives me too much time on my hands/ brain to wander. When things were normal I was always exhausted by on my work days (5:30am to 10pm) with a 3-4hr round trip commute so sleeping was rarely an issue. 🤗 virtual hugs to us all. Sherry if there's a time to need cuddles it's now.

I remember when I stayed in New York I couldn't sleep because its so noisy and busy and lights all over the place. I stayed at a hotel near that Sciencetology cult thing. I'm not used to that.. I sleep better with the noise of crickets and the wind howling and coyotes crying. I can't sleep because my whole routine is messed up.. I don't have to rush in the morning because kids stay home now. I don't work, so, my life is very slow paced, kind of less stressful and boring.. so I don't get tired much...
