Fasted workouts?
I've recently started fasted workouts - it's been about a month now. I agree with liv001. I would only do it if it feels good.
I use to have something liquid (8oz) before a workout since I was concerned with working out and running out of steam during my workout. Also, any solid food always weighed me down during a workout. I sometime would have that full feeling no matter how light the meal / snack was. I also did not try to figure out which foods made me feel which way during my workouts.
Everyone's diet and exercise routine is different. You might need to experiment with your energy levels and the exercise routine you do. For example, I do intermittent fasting. So I do not eat after 6pm, I had to find what worked for me on no food for 12hrs (eg intensity of my exercise). On this intermittent fasting, I can do a fasted cardio (running or jumping rope for 30 min) and something lighter for another 30min. Alternatively I can do a fasted light workout (yoga) for an 1 - 1.5hrs. Extending the time on either of these activities, I find myself becoming clumsy and even lightheaded at times, which I think is a result of losing energy.
