First day trying to go keto. Any advice?

Keep carbs low. Enjoy your favorite burgers bun free. All restaurants will just put it in a nice container for you if doing fast food. Make your eggs in different ways. Steak and eggs are so good. You can eat your protein with a side of veggies. Salmon, scallops, shrimp all delicious over a bed of zucchini spirals or butternut squash spirals with some pesto😋 keep up on your water. Diet green teas, diet sodas. There are so many great ideas on here. Stay in a deficit though weekly and you will do great😊😊 some weeks I’m Keto strict, others LCHF and protein or Mediterranean.

Also Joseph’s makes low carb pitas 😋 there very good. As a matter of fact I’m baking some tonight in the oven. I’m going to brown turkey burger and add cherry tomato and cut up zucchini and let it simmer. Then fill the pockets and top with Opa taziki sauce or avocado oil dressing 😋😋 Dave’s Killer Bread is another low calorie low carb( thin sliced) bread that I learned about here. I love the 21 grain and seeds thin sliced. I keep it in the freezer for when I want it.

Much success. It has been a good meal plan for me. I prep my meals so that I'm not tempted to eat off plan.

Focus on the foods you love and CAN have, not the foods you love but cannot have.Also find a new love for foods you may not have tried before.Experiment with new ingredients,recipes. Most importantly learn to love your new way of eating.

Read and find the right way. Too many people think it's trunk loads of bacon & eggs, ignore the calorie count and give up the vegetables. It isn't.

@moopie321, I am not on Fitbit at all. Is it something I should look into? I'm an electrician so I don't wear anything most of the day because of the dangers associated with coming in contact with an energized circuit. Talk about burning calories! 😂😂🤣

Lmao @donna. EXACTLY! Just take one day at a time and don’t give up. You’re gonna start to feel like poop—drink lots of water. If you start to feel terrible after a few days drink some bone broth or beef/chicken broth.

@Osama what about the eggs? It's one of my favorite foods in the world! There are 10 eggs and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese in there. 1175 calories. I'm not trying to stop my heart in the process though 😂

@g_ortegam, thank you! I am mostly dreading the adjustment period. I need my energy to get through a mainly strenuous day. I hear my strength is going to drop quite a bit too for the first few weeks. That broth tip is perfect 👌

Oh you can definitely join the egg group here. I think I work eggs into my intake at least once a day. I start sounding like Bubba on Forest Gump. "You can have 'em boiled, scrambled, friend, deviled, in salad, clouds..."

@FullaBella, I love me some eggs! I'm currently on a 3000 calorie daily Target so this is making that pretty easy compared to what I've been doing the last 5 months. So many people constantly ask me "aren't you supposed to be on a diet?" To which I respond, nope. I'm in training! I've been stuck at about 285 since March but my body fat has dropped 12% and I'm way stronger. Clothes are falling off too. Drilled new holes into my belt, which wraps around me now 1.5 times. 🍳
