Day 1 Cycle 3....I just don't get it....I am doing everything right and still nothing!!!! I am to the point that I am going to just say screw everything and have a huge batch of french fries and a big fat juicy hamburger.....yummy, man how I would love to have that! But no, I stop and look at my chart and see how GREAT I have done and that makes me get my mind back on track and say I CAN DO THIS! I totally think that I am doing something wrong though. When you do everything you are suppose to and you gain there is something wrong. I know I have started lifting, but I don't do that much and I don't think that I would see the muscles start building already, it has only been 3 weeks! What is the deal? The only thing that I am doing is substituting different foods, like instead of yogurt I have cereal, beans I have veggies or instead of juice I have a piece of fruit or vise verse, nothing that is not in the book....so WHY ISN'T THIS WORKING??????? I thought that the EFS would be the answer to all my heartache, but at this point I think I am just over stressing about things and I need to just relax and take a look at the big picture....I mean it has been 8 months and I am down just over 20 lbs and I feel great about that, but why can't I get those last 15 off? I looked at my BMI and it tells me I am overweight, well if that is the case and I am doing what I am suppose to be doing...WHY AM I NOT LOOSING IT??? BMI this buddy!!! I am so sick of seeing you are overweight....just because I am not one of those anorexic models or one of those.....man I need to stop..I am sure you all know where this is headed and it won't be good! Sorry...thanks for letting me vent!

So today's meals:
Breakfast: Yogurt smoothie and a pear
Snack: Mixed Fruit
Meal #2: Smoothie
Meal #3: 1/2 cup rice with sauteed green peppers, onions and mushrooms and 1/2 cup of beans
Meal #4: 1/2 cup rice with sauteed green peppers, onions and mushrooms with 2 servings of corn

Today is my off day for exercising, but I do have sand volleyball tonight for about 3 hours so that will get things going and I am also going to try to go about 30 minutes on the elliptical....

Sorry for all the venting, but it is getting frustrating and very, very, hard to follow when it isn't working!!!

Don't go by that BMI chart thing - If you get the opportunity - have your body fat tested - it's easy and painless - it's no where near what the BMI chart thing says. That would help and you can see how much muscle you are building. You are doing really well, put the scale away for a while and maybe just stick to measuring yourself. Don't give up!! and you can vent anytime :-)

I agree, don't go by the BMI chart, I don't care what that things says. According to that chart I should be at 130lbs. I would look like a crackhead!! Just go by how your clothes fit and what you think looks good. You are doing very well, don't weigh yourself either, keep doing what you are doing. When I look at your chart you moviate me to keep going. I don't mind the venting either.

You might have just finally hit your plateau. Everyone has one. One thing that is hard for you is that you seem to be always active and your body is used to that. So, instead of doing 30 mins on the ellyptical you might need to do 40 or 45 mins. Also, which metabolism type are you going by on EFS? You may not be doing a lot of weight training but ANY weight training that is causing you to tone your muscle can make an affect on your body. Give it some time. Be patient. It will happen. It might just be taking your body some time to show it... especially when it comes to the scale.

The BMI chart is crap. It really means nothing to anyone who as any kind of muscle or even the different body compositions. We can do this, like you said. It is tough but all the lean muscle we are building with weight training will burn off all the fat, even if we end up weighing a bit more, who cares! We will look gooooood:)

I still think you are not eating enough veggies - Have a salad I know I sound like a mother - Good luck and don't give yourself a hard time - Enjoy the summer as long as you are maintaining have fun. Just remember if you are drinking beer replace with rice and eat a salad. Just a thought :)
