VeganLizzles's Journal, 07 July 2018

So I started the journey to losing weight a little more than a year ago and started at a very uncomfortable 330 pounds (If not more) The photo was taken after I had lost about 10 pounds so 320 and the second was taken about a month or 2 ago I am now at 261 as of today and am 1 million times happier about the way I look and feel, than I was over a year ago! Now that my husband is deployed I have even more motivation to use the next 10 months to finish out my goal of losing the next 100 pounds! ( I slacked off and had a few bad months this past year and if I would have stayed going strong I would be much farther now so I feel if I keep focused 10 months should get me relatively close to where I want to be!) I do my absolute best when I follow an 80-10-10 vegan diet ( 80%carbs 10%fat 10%protein) My only issue with this so far has been eating enough calories because fruit and vegetables are less dense it takes more volume to create the same amount of calories which is sometimes hard to get in. I also have an autoimmune disorder that prevents me from being able to have things like beans/potatoes/peppers/all grains(wheat, corn, etc gluten type things) Anything that would give you a calorie boost being as I do not eat meat for personal reasons. I have found smoothies do the best to help me fill in some gaps in my daily calorie intake! At the end of the day if I'm too far below 1500 I will blend up a smoothie for a last-minute boost, or if I know I want to start the day off strong I will make a big smoothie for breakfast.

I put avocados in my smoothies, they have a lot of fat though. Chia seeds are surprisingly high calories for their volume too.

Can't have any seeds sadly (part of the autoimmune thing) unless i rule them out as a trigger but Im going to try to stay pretty clean with the elimination diet.

Are you able to eat nuts? I'm vegetarian too. So with my new "cut out the junk food/pop" diet if my calories are low I have a handful of nuts.
