Hi,
I am a 40 yo stay at home mom of 8 kids ages almost 17 to 4 weeks. I do not gain a lot of weight while pregnant so I do not have but a few pounds to lose. I hope to lose it by weight lifting and by balancing calories taken in with energy expended. After all, it is really all about the numbers! Breastfeeding my baby will help me too. I try to eat healthy foods most of the time but I have been known to enjoy junk food on occasion and an occasional glass of wine or beer. "Everything in moderation" is my motto!
I am thinking about going back to work as an RN part time but I will probably have to complete an RN Refresher Course since I have been home with my kids for awhile. I love medicine and medical research. I spend my free time reading medical journals and related books. We stay busy homeschooling Monday through Friday and carrying out the usual activities of daily living.
I hope to use weight lifting to build muscle in order to help me get back to running. I seem to get injured so i am trying to begin more slowly and gradually add running to my walking. Maybe walk 2 or 3 minutes and then run 1 minute -initially. We go to Planet Fitness which is a great gym that only costs ten dollars a month. Or twenty dollars if you want to be able to bring a guest and use the massage chair and tanning beds. They also have free personal trainers too. What I really love to do is inline skate but I am a little clumsy and not ready for that yet. Oh, to be twenty again. But I have not given up on that yet even though my family is afraid for me??
I am married to a great guy named Tom who is in my picture above. I certainly couldn't have made it without him! He is employed full time and also going to school to complete his degree. He is well on his way to getting his PHD:) He is an idealist. He carefully plans out all his time to allow for all the things he values most in life! Also, He loves to run and is currently training for a marathon.
