I am glad that I showed a loss. This passed weekend I carbed out so today I will be getting back on track. We had a party and yesterday beth, britt, the granddaughters and I went shopping and I spurged. I can feel the effects. But I feel ready to get back on course. I know that I can do this way of eating. I am going to allow my next spurge to be thanksgiving. It is great to have the kids back home!!!

Today is Monday the start to a new week. I feel pretty good. I am going to stop weighing everyday. It's stressing me out. I want to lose weight but I also want to enjoy the journey. I am more interested in seeing results in the size, energy and mental outlook. My daughter and her family are heading home today. They should be here tomorrow late in the evening. I am looking forward to seeing them.

Well I weighed this morning and it was not good. I thought that it would be that way since I had such a bad week. I am happy though that I was able to resist my husbands ice cream. he went to walmart and got himself a bunch of snacks for the football game. He bought me some skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. he didn't know how to read the label so he did not realize that the carbs were quite high. The strawberry ice cream that he got himself was actually less. Instead yesterday I made me a dessert out of heavy whipping cream, frozen fruit, splenda and cream cheese. It definitely hit the spot. I am not going to give up. I want to review why I want to loss weigh:
1. Can't stand not being able to do anything for a long period of time.
2. Can't stand not being able to get into my clothes.
3. Hate shopping in fat people stores.
4. Not having energy.
5. Having my stomach sit on my thighs. THAT I ABSOLUTELY DETEST!!!
6. Looking in the mirror and seeing a pot belly and double chin.
7. Looking older than I am.
8. Looking like crap in a swimsuit.
9. Being concerned about breaking a chair.
10. Being concerned about sitting in a theater seat.
I am sure that there are other reasons. I just can't think of them right now.
How I have improved since trying to change the way I eat and think about food:
1. I can tie my shoes.
2. I do have more energy just not where I would like to be.
3. My intensity has increased on the treadmill.
4. I am lifting heavier weights.
5. I am eating healthier.
6. I am not as depressed.
7. I drink alot more water and am not as bloated.
8. I do not feel like I am starving but I am losing inches and weight even though it is slow.
9. My house is cleaner.
10. I feel more organized.
Those are the positive things that have occurred. I need to remember them for the weeks that I do not weigh in as a loss. I am on the road to success I just need to remember not to take a detour and I will get to my destination.
I am going to go back to basics - drink my water, eat 25 to 30 net carbs, try to stay under my rdi in calories, exercise with cardio at least 6 days a week and lift weights 2 days a week. If I do those 5 things a week I should start seeing a loss again.

I do not follow the Atkins approach religiously however I believe that I do need to have a reduced carb intake. I can tell a difference in how I feel if I don't have as many carbs. So I am focusing on 25 to 30 carbs until I lose most of my weigh and then slowly increase my carbs with good quality carbs. I also want ot start looking at the RDI and see about consistently eating less than what is recommended. I think with consistent exercise, eating less than the RDI and also watching my carb intake I will lose this weight.
