I'm a 48 year old mom with 2 children. My oldest is my daughter, who will be 23 this year. My youngest is my son who just turned 18 last year. I never struggled with my weight until after I had kids and was in my 30's. The hightest I've ever weighed was 240. The first time was after my son was born when I was 30. At the age of 32, I managed to lose 70 pounds over the course of a year. I kept it off for a while, but gradually it has increased over the years back to 240. I was diagnosed with a sluggish thyroid for which I take medicine. I also have developed other medical conditions like high blood pressure and high tryglycerides/cholestrol. Now at 48 I have committed myself to a gym membership and even am paying for a trainer. In my 30's I was able to lose it myself, but now I feel I need the trainer to push me to make it happen. Hopefully by the end of this year I will have reached my goal weight.
