I'm 40 years old, married with a 4 year old boy. I live in the north east of England and I'm a secondary school English teacher. I've re-discovered in the last few weeks a love of Zumba and my little man enjoys doing a 10 minute exercise DVD with me every now and again. During school holidays I'm more active than term time and as he isn't at school during the school holidays we're running about all over the place.

The day I gave birth I weighed 18 stone and then I managed to get to 14 stone 2 and over the course of August 2011 to June 2012 I sneaked another stone back on. The day I fell pregnant in September 2008 I'd reached 13 stone following a diet and this is my initial aim, although I set my goal lower than that. So I will get to lower than my pre-pregnancy weight before my boy is 5! From there I will get even lower. It is my promise to myself.

Reducing alcohol is a bigger aim this time round as at 40 I need to be a few glasses of wine a week and no more. It is easy to have a glass of wine whilst preparing dinner and then another after and so on.

Anyway, let the weight loss journey continue again for about the fifth time in my life time lol! This time this is the one that will work for life. My positive attitude is now sponsored by Herbalife.

I agree, I'm not entirely sure sometimes if I'm entering correctly. I think there's sufficient available for something that's free though so I just make guesstimates at the equivalent. Smile

Want to eat all the time
The only thing I can suggest is that you track your food down to the last mouthful and then you'll see it in black and white and realise that what you're eating isn't worth it. I know! I find if I've not eaten much but made bad choices (like I did myself yesterday) the calories mount up and you can see that what you've had really needs changing if you want to lose those pounds and inches.

a newbie
Definitely log as you begin to learn more about what makes good calories and how quickly the bad stuff can add up if you don't do things in moderation.

Celebrating 8mths on FS and 48lb loss but Need ACTIVE FRIENDS :)
Whilst I'm not active with journals I have discovered this site in the last few weeks and enjoy the tracking. I'd like some friends to keep me motivated so please feel free to have me as friends.

Hi i'm new
For those that mention recipes and putting meals together I'm afraid I'm not imaginative and tend to use a range of recipe books. For breakfast and lunch I don't have that issue as this time round I've reached for Herbalife and seeing more success than I did with Weight Watchers and Slimming World where I was hungry and negotiating points so that I could still drink (which defeats the purpose!). Embarassed I've finally kicked the alcohol during the week which was a big one for me. Very Happy

I've opted for the pound a week approach this time rather than looking for big losses early on and this has been more successful with 12 pounds in 8 weeks as I ended up losing more in a few of the weeks.

My biggest success was with Atkins where I felt great and lost weight quite quickly (3 stones in 3 months) - mind you I had a starting point of 16 stone so had a lot to lose! But then I fell pregnant and gained all of it and more and then Atkins wouldn't work the second time round.

Good luck to us all!!
