I decided yesterday that I'm going to try to start gaining muscle now. I found a calculator on the Men's Health website that helps you estimate how many calories you have to eat to gain a pound of muscle a week. According to my inputs I have to eat about 4,015 calories a day!! This is actually a lot harder than it sounds. Unless your eating junk food and hamburgers and cheesesteaks, it's pretty hard. Fruits and veggies hardly make a dent in it. If I'm lucky I'll get to the 3600 that this Fatsecret recomends. I also have to make sure I consume about 174+ grams of protein a day. I'm pretty close already and I haven't even had dinner yet. I went to GNC yesterday and bought some high quality whey protein. I had scoop with my morning snack this morning and it gave me a buzz. I can wait to have some tomorrow when I get home from work before I go to my abs plus class at the Y. Wish me luck!!
