Went for lab work today. I am eager and a bit anxious to find out what the results will reveal. Blood sugar's always been high, kidney filtration too low (not danger low, but bad enough to tell my doctor I wasn't drinking enough water. Oh, boy, have I fixed THAT problem!), just...everything a lifetime of obesity will elevate. I want to see my progress; I assume there has been progress. I hope there's been progress.


Caught sight of myself in the full length glass door of the lab and was momentarily disappointed, until I recalled that all my clothes are now 2-4x too large for me, and all my shirts billow out like tents. So I pulled the excess cloth into a knot, and my vanity was appeased. That's more like it. I honestly hadn't even thought about what I'm going to do about clothes; they're all at a point where they're really loose and comfy, but I probably need better-sized public facing clothing. I suppose I'll shrink or alter a few things sometime soon, since I really don't have a clothing budget set aside for now.

The day I fit into the smallest pair of jeans in the house. I found them in my mother's clothes a couple of years ago, after she'd died, and given both our sizes over the years, all I could say was "Well, someone was being wildly optimistic here, Mom!" One of my thighs damn near filled the waistline the first time I tried to put them on, back then when I found them. Today they went on! Okay, they're not 100% comfortable at the waistline, but they went on.

Also, I will never acquire a taste for cottage cheese in itself, but it mixes nicely with a flavored Greek yogurt, and it's a really energizing breakfast for me. I think I actually enjoy food more now that I've changed my relationship to it and I don't eat mindlessly or emotionally anymore. I do a fair amount of gaming, especially in the evenings, and the only actual restriction I've set myself in my WOE is no eating while gaming, be it a meal, snack or whatever. It was too easy to mindlessly eat...a lot, that way.
