I ate correctly and went to the gym today. I am learning that, in general, food has a lot of calories, and I am seriously going to have to alter these habits I have maintained for a long time now. I'm REALLY glad I'm a vegetarian because I can't imagine how many calories meat items must have. I've also learned that arugula is disgusting, and hard to chew and swallow, and tastes like a plant but not a food, if that makes sense. On to the next green - I can't ALWAYS eat butter lettuce mix from Trader Joe's, which is my favorite. I do love spinach salads. Perhaps I'll bring that home next after we finish this awful arugula. The gym was great - I love the bright pink tone my skin takes when I visit the gym. That alone is incentive to go!

Last night I bought a one-year membership to 24-Hour Fitness. I am going to make it my goal to get to the gym at least three times a week. It's a pretty long drive from where I live, so I have to be realistic in my goals on this matter. I live in an area where there are a lot of hiking and running trails etc., so I think I can realistically make it to the gym thrice in a week and do some kind of walking or hiking around here on two or three other days.
I also think once I am down a few pounds and feel a little bit better about how I look in yoga pants, I will take advantage of the yoga studio that is just across the street from my place. They have one of those 'two weeks, $20' offers, so I can try yoga out again and see if ti works out better for me than when I tried it last (which was several years ago).
