I currently live in Idaho Falls, ID with my wonderful BF and my two amazing fur-babies. I've been an active nut my whole life - always out doing something, always into sports (from KY, where basketball reigns!) and I really can't sit still.
I've always had a super high metabolism, and over the past year, I have kissed it goodbye. All the comments my whole life about how my pig-eating will catch up to me someday, well, it finally happened. Thanks, all, for cursing me!!!
I used to live in Virginia Beach, where the warm weather and awesome beach forced me outside all the time. Now, if it's not summertime, I'm locked inside until the weekend when I can go skiing.
I have a gym downstairs that I have frequented more and more lately, but only time will tell if it's paying off.
My mother, grandmother, sisters are all big, and way back when they were all skinny little shits. I told myself my whole life I would never let it happen to me. Ever. I value my health too much.

HELP ME OVERCOME THIS SUGAR THING!
There's no way to completely avoid sugars, and there's no reason you should even try to avoid them all. If you are looking to cut sugar from your diet, cut the ones that are intentionally added to things. There are tons of natural sources of sugar, like fruit, and even some veggies like tomatoes. It's the refined sugars that are the worst, and what adds up. Simple carbs have gotten a bad rap, but really if you eat natural sources of simple carbs (fruit, milk, etc) it's how you eat it, not if you eat it. Simple carbs do not take near the time to break down and enter your bloodstream, which can cause a jump in blood sugar, which can then cause a jump in your insulin. These natural sources are fine to eat, you just have to eat them in smaller quantities to avoid the sugar spike. Remember, natural sources of simple carbs are also good sources of other vitamins and nutrients. (Vit C, A, calcium, etc) Of course, complex carbs are recommended, they tend to make you feel fuller, and are also loaded with nutrients.
Your body needs carbs, and diets that tell you to cut them drastically tend to irritate me, because carbs are our body's main source of energy. It's the time you eat and quantity of carbs that's really important. There are tons of things online about how much to eat, and when, don't eat before bed/sleeping, etc. Worth looking up. (Sorry so long-winded!)
