35 years old and feeling the pressure. I used to be quite active in high school and university (swim team, rowing team), but got into my 20's and 30's and life just "got in the way" of being fit. I've decided it's time to take control before I'm 40 and start a health-conscious lifestyle while I'm still young(ish).

I'm 5'2 and my goal weight is 115-120 pounds which I think is not unreasonable for my height and frame. I haven't been 115 pounds for a VERY long time and I'm very excited...so close...!

Best cereal = frosted mini wheats!
I love frosted mini-wheats! But I use almond milk instead of soy.

Food at the Office
There's always lots of cake here too...it works out for me when it's the kind that has the layer of fruit in it (I hate that kind), but when it's all creamy or chocolatey I get weak. Sometimes I can say no, othertimes I just have a teeny piece to get a taste of it but not feel guilty for eating a whole piece.

Frustrated
I usually don't weigh myself during that week of the month because I tend to have more water weight and it would just discourage me to see the numbers go up. So maybe stay away from the scale.

I also start craving junk food at that time too, but it's one of those things that you just have to challenge yourself to stay away from using your will power. Don't deny yourself everything though...allow yourself a treat each day for whatever you're craving, but work those calories into your daily allowance. For example, I love Harvey's veggie burgers which are 290 cals (not including veggies/condiments) and onion rings which are 270 cals. So I'll just eat a normal breakfast, but have a light lunch leaving myself enough calories to enjoy my Harvey's dinner guilt-free.

Keep up the exercise during that time (if you can) and only start tracking your actual weight again the week after.

Just my two-bits....

weird things you see people do at the gym
My ex-boyfriend was recently at a small town gym a few weeks ago and was in the men's change room. He heard some funny noises, turned a corner and saw a guy masturbating!! Right out there in the open!!!!

WTF??
